No that is written as A4 gas generator, the turbo gas generator they use inside canisters for ejecting the article, which is kinda odd given A4 is not yet visibly canisterised anywhere.

A5 integration on , lets hope its mirv test as well.

This is a missile from where we entered into new category of missiles. Where Agni III was a 48 ton missile with 3500 KM range, Agni V managed 4000 km with less than 20 ton of weight and gave us capability cover most geographical area of China. This enabled us to introduce new technologies including guidance in our old missiles and optimize their performance. We reduced the weight of Agni III to 23 tons later on.

Agni 3 is a different thing, its a 2 meter dia large case bonded solid motor which was the first development in its class within the country. There is one very good video with one of the scientist, actually armed forces person, who was involved with its development. Now with crmc stages its even next gen. And there is no telling what the bigger version is capable of. Building blocks are almost all ready.

A4 and A4 prime both are much less dia class and will serve as interesting land vectors.

That is true but tell me How Agni III is different. It has a bigger dia. because it was designed that way. What I emphasis was that it bought new technologies which later on went into other missiles. After Agni IV, Major breakthrough in technology was Agni I Prime. It had a very powerful composite motor , It is very fast and has has a long rage compared other missiles in weight class. It is very accurate and has a potential of conversion into LRASM. It was MIRV. Later on same technology went into Agni V to increase its range.

It already has. In the PDV. As a solid fuel missile, it probably wouldn't take much to turn it into an SRBM. Kinda like what the USN is doing with SM-6.

If it's not too much to ask, could you post any images (sanitised, of course) of the K4 emerging from the water?

The only pic/gif that exists shows the K4 nose cap motor pull it out the water before the first stage kicks in. Is that really the case or is it gas bubble (cannister in missile tube) like most other SLBMs?

I think only the Russsians have used this kind of tech in practice for launching SLBMs. Is it safe given the nose cap sits right on top of the warhead fairing?

ASL is happy to show the new toy in the poster , more hint that the LRAShM is mostly for strategic asset , ie liquidating a carrier would be classified as equivalent to target a strategic asset. right ? Again ie, solely the LR-AShM version is another strategic asset & will operate under SFC?

The other part which the PIB statement alluded to, the missile can carry multiple kv so another offshoot with a different KV can play the part of a different conventional weapon system provided the Govt clears DRDO to develop one.

^ About LR-AShM being strategic or not, forgot that INS Tunir will be expanded to facilitate this system besides the usual inducted systems. so likely non strategic. Kinda rare given strategic nature of ASL projects, ignoring some composite stuff like making the LCA drop tank etc.
