Ghatak and Rustom Indigenous UAV Programs

Every new development starts like a college project...

Tell me how many countries have achieved this feat. A complete software coding for Fly by wire system & control Laws for a flying wings design...
Only US, France, Russia and China has achieved this till now..
Do you still think it's a college project...?

This will lead to upscaling and there's already a buzz of IAF being interested in this drone itself which can be used as wingman (a la nEURON) for fighters.

Apart from this there's a buzz about Ghatak flying wings ucav using dry Ge414 or dry snecma m88..

And finally (even though it may take a decade or so) it paves the way for 6th gen fighters like NGAD & B21 which too are a flying wings design without vertical stabilizers...

Nope this was the first flight of a complete flying wings design..
Have you seen the difference. If no. Then please see all the previous tests were with small vertical stabilizers. This one doesn't have vertical stabilizers and it's a complete clean flying wings design...
"Under testing". It's not speaking about any particular machine or design.

The stupidity to ask how many countries do this after admitting its like a college project is something.

If you are referring to a production ready UCAV then hold your horses. Thats not happening in this decade except in your day dreams.

Regarding the question of how many countries engage in activities such as SSBN, UCAV, or ASAT, only the top 5-6 countries have attempted these. Other countries may not be interested or face political complications. Therefore, it is childish to compare to nations that have never attempted such activities. If there were a global arms race without alliances and restrictions, in a decade, a few dozen countries would operate these technologies. It is not a lack of skill or money, but rather a lack of will and necessity.

You should be celebrating when a product is entering service by offsetting the need of importing. That is an achievement.

DRDO couldn't deliver a single UAV to the forces after two decades of developments. Yet here you are celebrating a college project and selling us dreams.

Comparing a stealth autonomous flying wing with a college project is nothing but sheer disdain towards our scientists.

I hope we make a production variant of SWiFT along with the full-on scaled up variant. In future, this mastery of flying wing aerodynamics and control shall give birth to our VLO bomber.

From tho shall not question fuhrer, now to scientists ?

Yes, there is huge part of incompetency in DRDO and their workforce. Skilled and ambitious takes flight to better R&D ecosystem anyway. From mediocre talent you get mediocre result.

This government has done squat to improve R&D in this country. Funding is actually decreasing. There is no love for these "scientists".

So let me get this. If a college student in India flies a f22 look alike, that means we can build the f22?
there is some merit in what he says even though it might look like a overstretch.
Most of the tech innovation begins at grass root and they provide a solid supply of talent for institutions & companies. If a college student couldnt build a small plane and make it fly , then dont expect a company to build a real world plane successfully even though it might have more resources.

It's more about engineering and aviation culture. I have an engineer friend who, after moving to the US, became so involved in activities like RC planes and aircraft simulators. He gets so much joy from these side projects.

Done.

Now, waiting for eulogy writings on Twitter. ;)

Failures are the pillars of success. Hope we succeed this time around.
Modi just paying back to Adani.

If 30,000 feet & 24 hour was indeed the only requirement and Tapas has been removed from Mission Mode for failing to adhere to the same, then logic dictates going for Heron Mk2s.

A platform we are familiar with for years.

Not Hermes 900.

Waah mudi ji waah.

Not sure about that. ADE dug their grave themselves. Better be happy about that there is viable alternative with licence production.
Hellfire said this long back.
Yes, he was attacked for it by the desi only boys of Twitter.

My only concern is against the Elbit product.

We can get licence assembly of Heron Mk2 with HAL and development of Archer NG throught ToT with DRDO. Why bring in a new platform for the same role which is less capable? Just to benefit Adani?
