HAL says LUH demonstrated high altitude capability in Hot and High weather conditions in the Himalayas recently for 10 days. A comprehensive test plan was executed at Leh (3300 MAMSL) in temp up to ISA+320C which included envelope expansion, performance and flying qualities. pic.twitter.com/RdP8XNikjV

LUH took off from Leh and demonstrated its hot and high hover performance at Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) at 5000 MAMSL. The helicopter also demonstrated its payload capability in Siachen glacier high altitude. pic.twitter.com/ynFykTMCE2

During the trials, pilots landed the helicopter at the highest helipads of Amar and Sonam. The Army version of LUH is now ready for Initial Operational Clearance, says Mr. R. Madhavan, CMD, HAL.

Any idea on its official IOC? Hopefully after that a dozen of LSP can be produced untill FOC is achieved.
No idea. Hopefully they go into full scale production and not start & stop production. We need the numbers and we need them fast.

But there was a requirement of 42-48 Mi17s I think which received the clearances but was never signed. That deal if fructifies will surely be a boost.
Due to aerodynamic improvements on #LUH, the performance during the recent Himalayan trials was far better when compared to last year’s trials at Leh.
