Given PAF CAP's are responding to Indian formation, wouldn't be a bad idea to bait a few into Akash/ Spyder ranges.
On the other hand while they are focusing on Air raids, it wouldn't be a bad option to open some ground action along IB.

As for F-16

Have tried to confirm what has been posted by @nair to best of my ability. The F-16 was 'snagged' by a Mig-21 Bison. Confirmation through two channels - military sources as also civil sources on ground who saw the whole thing.

I may still be wrong, catering to bragging, but multiple sources who have impeccable standing for me, have confirmed kill of F-16. Pertinent to note, they had 'captured' one pilot who was injured and transferred him to CMH. But suddenly, they have only one pilot of ours. You can take your guess.
The same Bison that was shot down or a different one?

Only one bison shot down for one F-16. In the morning itself I had told that had there been a second Indian pilot in their custody, they would have shown him too and now we have confirmation from them that they have only one pilot with them. But who is the pilot in CMH. Its the F-16 pilot who is in CMH shot down by Bisons. He seems to have been injured either during ejection or when he was hit by the missile or while landing on ground. Please remember that we fighter pilots are not para jumpers and while landing on hilly terrain, even the best trained para jumper can suffer an awkward landing and suffer injuries.
We are briefed and trained on ground only about how to land and avoid injury but then real game is very different.

"U.S tells Pakistan that it can't use American weapons without its permission."
That's funny when it happens to the other guys, but remember that it would be true for India, too.

Imagine if you had had to beg for permission to use the Mirage 2000 for the raid against the terrorist camps... How stupid would that have been?
Thats why we need indigenous weapons.....

yes, they baited us real sweet. AS says the F 16 did shallow incursion and then hung near the border making our dudes go there in hot pursuit. Probably kind of obvious in tactic if you think about it. Wing Commander Ji should have controlled a little entusiasm. Hope we can get him back quickly.

I do not want to divulge tactics and info here, but we can also bait PAF and finish them off within Pak airspace. We have that capability. We can not only do it but do it again, and again, and again, and again.

Come to think of it. We shot down their F-16 with a Mig-21Bison. Our Pilot will surely return to flying once released but what about PAF F-16 pilot who is in CMH? Will he ever fly again as a fighter pilot? Pretty doubtful considering that he is hospitalised due to injuries from ejection.

Pakistan demarched on the act of aggression against India
February 27, 2019

The Acting High Commissioner of Pakistan was summoned this afternoon by MEA to lodge a strong protest at the unprovoked act of aggression by Pakistan against India earlier today, including by violation of the Indian air space by Pakistan Air Force and targeting of Indian military posts.

This is in contrast to the India’s non-military anti-terror pre-emptive strike at a JeM terrorist camp in Balakot on 26 February 2019. It is unfortunate that instead of fulfilling its international obligation and bilateral commitment to take credible action against terrorist entities and individuals operating from its soil, Pakistan has acted with aggression against India.

It was clearly conveyed that India reserves the right to take firm and decisive action to protect its national security, sovereignty and territorial integrity against any act of aggression or cross-border terrorism.

India also strongly objected to Pakistan’s vulgar display of an injured personnel of the Indian Air Force in violation of all norms of International Humanitarian Law and the Geneva Convention. It was made clear that Pakistan would be well advised to ensure that no harm comes to the Indian defence personnel in its custody. India also expects his immediate and safe return.

Regret was expressed at continuing denial by Pakistan’s political and and military leadership at the presence of terrorist infrastructure in territories under its control. A dossier was handed over to Pakistan side with specific details of JeM complicity in Pulwama terror attack and the presence of JeM terror camps and its leadership in Pakistan. It was conveyed that India expects Pakistan to take immediate and verifiable action against terrorism emanating from territories under its control.

yes. But this won't add to our list in the propoganda war. Unlike Uri, we have crossed the stage where we can posture using implied trust. Indian people will always believe IA/ IAF. But now we have the conttuency of pakistanis that we need to prove our actions too.

This dossier is a bait and time gaining tactics. IMHO, the mobilisation will start now with real action to follow in a week.
