So Masood Azhar is blacklisted now; but what about the other big terrorists walking around freely in Pakistan? And now that Azhar is officially blacklisted, what exactly are we going to do...?

Hope this wasn't the endgame...

They were satisfied the day abhinandan returned. That was basically the end game. Skirmishes at LOC and all will continue till Pakistan exists.

Hafeez syed, dawood Ibrahim they r also black listed kya ukhaad liya.. they are living their life well in pakistan. Diplomats travelled and stayed in 5 star hotels, made their TA DA and had a lavish summer vacation in Geneva and NY. Isse zada kuch nahi hai isme.

Good you saw the garlands & praises there, I didn't, all I see is a idea which was dropped in favour of another, more matured one.

We used Spice-2000 we know it's capability in real war. It did well, We can praise it. I don't know about SAAW, it was not tested, I can't speak good or bad about it.

SAAW has been PROVEN to be as accurate.

They had a doubt about SAAW that's why they did not deploy. It's simple logic. May be it had worked better ;)

And the spice 2000 which they deployed, struck the building entered by making a hole on the roof but didn't explode, what are the chances? :p

SAAW does not have a penetrator like SPICE2000 which can be programmed to explode at a particular level as it is designed for runway bursting. It would have penetrated and burst bringing down the whole structure. The fact that structures remained intact as the crystal maze could not be launched created the problems of perception.

From past experience the out come is "Your ego got satisfied " and also got one more terrorist to blame Pakistan.....He will roam freely in Pakistan and continue to run his terrorist assembly line....

End game??? No way... This would be considered as a response to balakot bombing.... But the response to attack on our Brig HQ is pending...... and MoD consider this to be a ongoing operation....

My comment has been misunderstood, I only posted it in this Standoff thread b/c that's where everyone usually discusses things. I didn't mean the endgame of the whole standoff, I meant the endgame vis a vis Masood Azhar. I hope the plan isn't to just let him run around Pakistan the way Hafiz Saeed does even after being blacklisted.

Well it could be that IAF never attacked Balakot. Why fly all the distance, take risk only to drop an unarmed bomb.

They have gone there but to give the message only. To my understanding they were pretty sure that they would not be traced. They could have done the carpet bombing there as well, and proven the point.

They had done the assessment that if we do this, Pakistan will do the same with just a little more in quantity or tempo.

So by this they controlled the escalation and as well real war, cause elections were close.

Biggest bullshit ever heard. Even Pakistanis will laugh at you.

Now we have legitimate UN approved reason to conduct one more strike after few months when as expected Pakistan does nothing. We can kill him openly and still invite zero criticism from the world community.

There was no gain fighting a war with Pakistan if there is no resource gain or no land gain. And Pulwama could have ruined BJP if they had not struck the Balakot. That strike was for Indian people and save their seat during elections by maintaining that there shouldnt be escalation with Pakistan. Whether they killed 300 or none. They went there dropped the payload and returned. That what matters for Indian general public. They are very well satisfied.

Because fighting during elections would definitely made BJP loss election as there would have been economic backlash. So they managed it very brilliantly. The only black spot on us is they got their hands on our pilot. That was the biggest success they had. And we bluffed them that we will launch brahmos, although I am pretty sure we would have not.

If there were no elections we would have ruined Pakistan once for ever this time! Pakistan very brilliantly chose the time to hit us in kashmir. It's was a lock situation.

Things will start after elections, till now we have not done at all except for diplomatic naach gana.

You lack ability to understand warfare and how the things are done. World over, best of strategic experts, can't be as naive as you are in rightly deciphering the Balakot strikes. Think again. Was it for Indian people or For the establishment of Pakistan? We showed up two fingers to their nuke bluff.

Yes the balakot was for Indian people , otherwise balakot would have happened not just in Balakot but many other places too with a larger scale. And there after the nuclear bluff would have been already diffused. ( there are big things to come but after the elections)

Lack of knowledge is not an excuse. who told u that the strike was confined to Balakot only? Do you know the aftermath of it and the ongoing ops? Balakot is a mission in progress.

This was not the endgame at all. I think MEA itself said officially "step in right direction"...lol

Next step is to get the blacklist at FATF....this will cost est. 10 billion a year, thats like 3.5% of their economy each year when they are struggling to grow just few %. Push for that, so at least grey list is maintained at worst....i.e do whats needed (within reason) for KSA/arabs to keep their vote as it is (I think this is part of reason India approaching Iran sanction issue with US in muted fashion).

Work IMF pressure angle in mean time too. Keep adding market cap, GDP at multiple levels of Pakistan whole economy....keep strengthening the institutions long term.

On other fronts, keep them on simmer and boil as needed (to get the knee jerk painful self inflicted stuff like airspace closure and maritime wariness etc inside Pakistan as much as possible)...as @Falcon has posted lot of times in this thread already. The response ladder is now shifted and established and will need to be checked for where its strong and weak to use appropriately with time. When they are least expecting it, go ahead and do something pro-active etc after election fervour etc.

India needs to seriously grow its diplomat corps though, it is very lacking in view of our size, reach and soft power projection. That must be a big priority for next govt...to at least dbl or triple it in 5 years time.
