Question-

In a recent interview pilots who conducted the strike said they hit the targets. In absence of video feed what other options pilot have to confirm the hit for stand off weapons. Distance was around 70km visual confirmation is not posible were they briefed later at base or some others sensors keep track of weapon released and it's impact point.

@panzerdad @vstol Jockey @Falcon @The Deterrent and anyone else who knows more about it.

Just like a soldier of yore, who trusted their stead and sword, we fighter pilots also trust our aircraft and weapons. We do lot of practice including simulated and actual firings which give us the confidence. We had seen the accuracy of these bombs in Pokhran demonstration. If your coordinates of the target are fed accurately and your weapons computer gives launch command, be assured, weapon will hit what has been programmed into it. Moreover, pilot or the autopilot is supposed to fly the aicraft for bombing missions and in that based on release conditions, any pilot can very clearly tell you about what must have happened to the target.

They are lying again.

They lost a F 16 D , Block 52

Since it was a Block 52 it was tasked with
Flying low and bomb the army installations

When the MiG 21 appeared suddenly
The Block 52 took a loop and wanted to shoot the MiG 21 , But Abhinandan placed his plane perfectly for the R 73 shot

The R 73 hit the Frontal part of the F 16

Hence the pilots were injured and they could not escape the Mob

The F 16 B were lying and waiting in
Ambush or they fired the Aim 120 at Su 30

F 16 A and B are purely for Air defence ie firing Air to Air Missiles

I need to correct you here. The aircraft was F-16B which was taken from Jordan and upgraded to F-16D standards in MLU. Please read about it. So the F-16B is correct designation for the aircraft type.

The Biggest mistake by PAF on Feb 27 was
Firing Aim 120 on Su 30
In an Ambush style , from well within their OWN territory and at a plane flying well
Within Indian Territory

This has Changed the Rules of the Game for EVER

Now they will always be afraid of being Ambushed by our NEW missiles and Meteor in future

This foolishness also has led to this purchase of Longer Range New R 77 SD

They could have dropped the Bombs and left and Indian Air Force would NOT have been
So Angry

They have dug a grave for themselves

This day keeps getting better.
@vtsoljockey @anshumig finds his target in "tu-fail"
Actually this whole debate about Doosra pilot is useless. I remember a very old joke about "Doosra Kahaan hai". It was about a man asking his servent to go and buy two bananas. The servent returns with just one. so the guy asks, "Doosra Kahaan hai" and the serven t replies, "yeh raha aapkay haath main". This continues for sometime. Finally the servent says, "Huzoor aap doosra kahaan hai poonch rahey ho, yeh pooncho kee pehla kahaan hai". so the guy asks, "Pehla kahaan hai". Servent says woh toh mainay kha liya", kaisay kha liya asks the guys and the servent eats up the second banana also saying aisay kha liya.
Using this logic, we must ask ISPR, "Pehla Kahaan hai"

Posts from other forum:
  1. because there was no co pilot. F-16 B doesnt need any 2nd pilot for any mission. B version is similar to A meant for training.
  2. Guys need to clarify a few things. Although S/L Hassan was flying a ''B'' model, the AOC was flying in another F-16B from where he was directing/monitoring the whole operation. Although he was flying as a GIB but he is fully ops and current on single seaters. F-16 GIBs don't count unless they have a specific role. However, their help in lookout and radar interpretation is certainly useful.
Sir, is there any official document that says that a single pilot in a dual-seat F-16 can do the job of 2 pilots? Is the same possible for MKIs?
The front seat of a two seater has full controls for complete mission flying. In reality there is no need to have a second pilot in the rear seat but this F-16 was coming in for bombing mission and had the CO of the Sqn in it to better coordinate the battle and strike targets on ground. I am very sure that the rear seat was occupied by Hassan who was looking after bombing part while Shabaz was coordinating the battle space.
Su-30MKI needs both seats to be occupied for war mission as the roles of both the pilots are different.

So they did not use the latest Block 52s for
Such an important mission

That joke comes from this movie scene. In the 1980s this duo could convert all kinds of brainless nonsense into hilarity :)

Exactly, else why bring a B version at all- the split responsibilities would allow one person to fly and control the battlefield, the othe other would control weapons. If this need was not there they would have just brought a single seat F 16

Look, if the AOC was airborne, then every Sqn Co would have personally led the strike formations of their respective Sqns. Shabaz was the CO of Shedils. This post confirms that Shabaz was the "Pehla Pilot". So the mystery solved and lies exposed.
This also confirms that F-16ds were used for taking out SU-30MKIs and the upgraded F-16s from Jordan were leading the strike package which was flown by Shabaz, Hassan and others.
In India, there is a bar in IAF on anyone above the rank of WC flying combat missions. same is true for Indian Army regarding Direct combat for officers above the rank of Lt. Col. Its only in Indian Navy that the fleet commander sails with the fleet to the battle in true traditions of Navy.

True, even ISPR later said that whole PAF was airborne that time.

So to send a plane with one pilot missing in a strike package is a joke that only Pakistanis can believe. It's like claiming one engine is enough to fly so we sent Su30 without second engine to strike China.

The kind sir is too generous.
How many seniors fly minimum hours to log operational okay and medical fitness for a offensive op sir ?
AOC might be blunder number 2 :)

Today is getting better and better.
