Indian Army Artillery Systems : News and Updates

I remember L& T reporting orders will be made on time.
Without orders shop will have to be closed in 6 months ..
L&T was fulfilling the orders before time asper the request from army ( may have changed this time frame after lockdown ).They were assured further orders.But... with thede type of attitude our defense industry will never nourish.
Apart from L&T, Tonbo also faces similar backstab from GOI. They even tweeted the incident.

Army can place a order for upto 500 crore INR.

So the numbers can be around 800-1000 such shells, if full emergency power is utilised.

We are now using simulations to make artillery range tables :

Asper some analysts we do have desi program for excalibur.

And no guided ammunition like excalibur was developed. The krasnopol is a laser guided shell if my understandings are correct. Yoh need to go near to the target & get it illuminated first.
I believe LG Ammo is easier to develop and cheaper than exorbitantly costly M982. It’s jusy another fancy item like rafale and F35.
LG ammo is used by Pakistanis quite frequently at LOC
@safriz

I’m not even sure if planes like JF17 and Mirage V etc are worth shooting with such costly AAMs .

What is there to hide. It’s not like artillery shelling in new thing at LOC.
BTW we are going off topic

PS: In the above post I forgot to add Meteor AAM

Pakistan don't have any guided artillery shells.. both GPS nd laser guided...

Excalibur gps guided shells can't be compared to laser guided knock offs..

For a laser guided shell to hit precisely.. it needs a continuous illumination of target by either an aircraft, drone or team of men.. not suitable for heavily gaurded loc warfare...

Excalibur shells are unique.. with no equivalent!! just punch in target coordinates nd voila! Witness target destruction without the need of continuous illumination of the target!! Perfect for loc warfare..

On LOC the only guided ammunition we use are the wire guided anti tank missiles "Baktar Shikan" which we fire on the indian army bunkers.

If only those things work. Majority of the ATGM fire is TOW missiles from Pakistani side.

One thing PLA has improved a lot is its artillery. Today it has more Truck mounted or SPH guns than it has towed ones.

If we want some 3000 guns, we should look at 1000 155/52 towed, 500 ULH category towed ,1000 Truck mounted and atleast 500-600 SPHs.
China's artillery and rocket artillery have both improved significantly. They can actually fire their rocket artillery from extreme south points of Tibet and hope to hit suburbs of Delhi. Some varients of their Weishi rockets allegedly have a range of 400 KM.

Anything over 150km range is duty of cheaper subsonic CMs or solid fuel SRBMs.

Rocket artillery is effective in battlefield. Guided rocket artillery with range of 20-50 km , and for high value targets artillery with 70-120 km range with more accurate targetting system is enough.

Pinaka MK2 and guided pinaka are good systems.

We should also look for cheaper guidance kits for our 122mm rocket artillery fleet also.

Guided 122mm at 15-30 km range in a battle field is extremely capable force multiplier. Capable of taking out large advancing forces within minutes.

Didn't you guys buy some Italian guided munitions for your mortars??
