Pretty impressive in&out timing
We need atleast 1800 mgs and around 1000-1500 tracked sph. And that too in 105mm and 122mm for easier mobility. I hope someone in the MoD tries modernised the abbots and gvozdika's and produce a new version with superior barrel, ranges, targetting and guidance. We will have to induct 4000+ new arty guns to reliably do an counteroffensive against both Chinese and Pakistan. Along with of course lots of loitering munitions with warhead variations from 2kg-2000kg. Our loitering munution requirement is around 10,000 minimum.
Bofors Upgrade.
Kalayani 105mm gun is less than 900kg combat weight. The IFG is like 2+ tons.Although people are pitching for garuda this is probably to use the existing guns & mount those on a 4x4
Ideally yeah, though if IA intention is to still use the existing old guns then they probably need the mounting 4x4 chasis for this. What would be the cost difference in case? I can understand why top brass would prefer the old guns still be used in some way compared to a new gun. Possibly delays Garuda acquisition.Kalayani 105mm gun is less than 900kg combat weight. Better to get Kalayani Garuda, as the IFGs are in service since 80s now.

Cost will definitely favour the older IFGs only. Even when using newer barrels. But if the newer Garuda 105 is only used , transportation along northern borders will be easier. 1 ton may mean transportation capability via C295.Ideally yeah, though if IA intention is to still use the existing old guns then they probably need the mounting 4x4 chasis for this. We had one RFI earlier specifically designed for Garuda 105. But no number's were mentioned.Do we have information about the numbers they need?

Some twitter handles had given a range of 100-120 units for LAC.
