Finally, AO-18 has been fully indigenized:

With this the AK-630 CIWS has become fully indigenous. Ammo is now being made by Solar Industries/EEL. Vasbeam & Dv2Js Innovation are developing programmable/proximity fuses for 30x165 ammo.

Now can we please make our own Kashtan-M.

Frankly, Kashtan-M requires deeper deck penetration than AK-630's ~2m and is quite a bit heavier. A twin-barrel AK-63 mount (like the follow-on 'Duet' model) with integrarted AESA radar panels would be a better solution, imo. SoKo, for example, has developed an evolved version of Thales Goalkeeper CIWS, retaining the original gun but modifying the mount.

Any updates on the Mahindra Axe? It was one of the contenders for the LSV competition iirc. Would have made an excellent SF recon/transport vehicle, imo. I don't believe it's quite in the same class as the Polaris ATVs with the IA. Could be wrong though.

@marich01 Could you confirm if Samtel makes the Thales Topsight HMD under license? Other than IN MiG-29K, which type uses it in Indian service? TIA
I dunno, they list hmd under co-dev

Turns out IAF MiG-29UPG use the Elbit DASH like the rest of the fleet (except MKI which still operates Russian Sura-K).

Apparently Topsight-e is available as an option for international customers on MiG-29SMT/K and may have been selected by the IN. But there are no pics in the public domain.

The IN did use DASH on the old Sea Harriers though so it's possible the MiG-29K has it too.

Samtel is a JV partner with Thales so likely makes HMD under license but there's no clarity on who the customer is.
