Indian Missiles and Munitions Discussion

If they're testing the HSDTV , don't you think they've cracked this already ?

Point is our AD, anti air & ammo/all types of missiles will further move into hypersonic range once we get suitable material, tracking system all sorted out. Then LRSAM & equivalent will have speed in mach 5-7 range

Yes, for limited duration tests. That is why tests are happening in stages i guess, 20-25 sec first, then longer duration. A particular grade material can handle say like upto 60 sec burn time max. That would not get it certified for longer range products. We would still need something better. Using that limited 40-50 sec burn time in a practical missile might not be cost effective enough to mass produce. Also need to check how the ceramic radomes, heat shields work & the seeker in such condition.

Not necessarily . Those limited duration tests could also be because they're throttling the engines to develop limited thrust as they don't want to test full capacities in 1 go but in a graduated manner .

Could be, apparently the plan is to test up to 600 sec duration, 10 mins burn time. Once ground test give satisfactory result they will replicate it by sending it up. Materials corrode heavily under test condition, those are measured as well & further step taken.

Obscured some parts but this is the gist. VL-SRSAM test soon.

NGARM trials also might be quite close, given they order the racks that hold the airframes, 500kg holding capable, clear indication of airframe without warhead (ngarm is massive). They provide all plans for the custom made racks, containers etc. Guess this is why sometimes there are delays in program deadline. Its not just the high end stuff making, you gotta do every small things.

Seems desi atgm integration in some platform, likely LCH, will start soon & completion period is 6 months. Work starting on making the custom system. Guess this is why people were frustrated with no integrated antitank weapon in lch, its in lsp stage, its not supposed to have atgm yet. Series production will start testing & full integration.
It says no posting work content on any social media or any forum (literally part of clause) or discussed in public domain so not copying it this time.

😂😂

Now, even the companies are aware of the desi defence forums.

Not the companies, the officer/scientist cleareing the tender had that part, maybe they have had before I did not notice. Usually I have not noticed it mentioned in scope of work. It could also be related to many startups/MSMEs posting sometimes related information, like being awarded a contract or designing something on their own social media so I guess they are a bit cautious.

Astra has moved to user trial phase for the last few year that is why we do not get news anymore except what IAF showed in hints.
I removed the signature & name part below.

Project TARA , will definitely take time, lot of tests for major component like power supply etc. Its planned integration for su-30, jaguar darin2 & mk1 so far. So yes the Mars & Jupiter trials also need lot of pre testing.

Also, saw this, why? our nag/amogha/asibal can do a job. I hope its temporary. Rus also offered Igla S local mfg now.

Going ahead you'd see a lot of indigenous platforms be it air , land or sea based rigged to be equipped with foreign read western armaments.

This is done for 2 reasons to buy time till local developments are successful & with a view on the China problem where we're developing contingency measures w.r.t production of local armaments which has it's own limitations in terms of the numbers it can churn out in a war vs the sheer numbers China can throw at us courtesy their national capacities in production of anything under the sun , being the factory of the world .
