I would have said more like 5. 15 would be like winning the UP elections, even you lose all 15 seats. But ya, 8 is quite liberal from the regional parties.

This guy was seriously one of the most corrupt politicians we have had. He created the blue print (of how to get Quid Pro Quo monies via shell companies) that is continuing to this day not only via his sons, nephews but also shared that gyan with the likes of YSR, YS jagan etc.
I am not even talking about his atrocious comments on the majority religion here at the moment. I am actually sad that I do not feel bad for his demise. He has done more than enough damage and TN would have reached greater heights had it not been for his corruption.
His son is a known strongman in the state.
I wonder who will no fill this political vaccum in the state given that no major leaders in TN right now have the charm or the shrewdness of the erst while CMs - Jaya and Karuna.

This could actually be an opportunity; after all, from what I've heard, Stalin isn't his father and doesn't exactly have an iron grip over his party either. He has a couple of siblings who can't possibly be happy at being passed over. BJP likely won't be winning anything by itself there any time soon, but if they play their cards right they could definitely shake things up and maybe create a couple of local factions that can win a few seats and make overt/covert post-poll alliances with BJP.

शनिवार को राहुल गांधी के इस कार्यक्रम में राजस्थान कांग्रेस के सभी बड़े नेता मौजूद थे. इसी दौरान मंच पर एक कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ता ने सावधान बोलकर राष्ट्रगान गाना शुरू कर दिया. लेकिन कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी, सचिन पायलट और अशोक गहलोत ने उसे सुना ही नहीं और किसी बात पर हंसते ही रहे. इधर राष्ट्रगान शुरू हो गया. हालांकि जैसे ही उन्हें इस बात का अहसास हुआ, सभी नेता तुरंत सावधान की मुद्रा में खड़े हो गए. हालांकि तब तक कुछ देर हो चुकी थी.
इस घटना का वीडियो सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल हो गया. भाजपा की आईटी सेल के प्रभारी ने इस वीडियो को ट्विटर पर पोस्ट करते हुए कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष और दूसरे नेताओं की आलोचना की. इसके बाद दोनों तरह के कमेंट्स आने शुरू हो गए.

Rahul Gandhi alias RaGa alias Pappu alias the Congress Party are searching issues to fight the forthcoming general elections. He has tried very hard to make Demonetization as an issue, but it did not work. It is a two year old issue with much less crowd pulling power today. The party tried hard to create GST implementation and rapid digitization as an issue. This effort failed because the younger generation below 35-40 years of age support both GST and digitization. Other worn out issues of Dalit rights were found, but Modi preempted them by fixing everything back with a newer legislation. The NRC in Assam could be considered as a big issue, but majority supports NRC except Mamata Banerjee in Bengal who wants Muslim from Bangladesh in her state and become her vote bank, but people saw thru her game and she is beginning to loose ground as indicative from a big rally by BJP in Bengal which pulled a huge crowd, meaning people are listening to other parties also.
Hence there is one issue left for Mother and Son duo in the Congress Party to fight the election and I.e. Corruption in Defense deals. They found a legal lacuna in the Rafale defense deal I.e. Secrecy Agreement they signed ten years back with the French. Under this arrangement, either party cannot disclose the details of the deal hence they can keep harping on corruption since details cannot be disclosed. Mother and son now have found an issue for the next elections, it is a new Bofor. ...... Is it?
Incompetence of RaGa and the Congress Party has taken the steam out of the issue. He misspoke about the French President saying something to him during his last visit to India. The French quickly silenced him. Also RaGa has changed stand four times on the price issue in five months, each time quoting a new but a wrong price on the deal. The last one coming closest to what the Defense Minister says is approximately the actual price. Lastly a big mistake committed by the Congress Party ten years back in a separate deal to buy P8i from US, where they padded the price in favor of US to deny the other competitor of the contract. Ten years back were the heyday of the Congress Party when corruption was rampant and deals were padded. We would not have known about it until CAG, the independent Parliamentary accountant blew the subject in open. RaGa, Sonia Gandhi and others, including PM Manmohan and DM Anthony were taken aback. They did not expect that. They might have padded the price in favor of US company for the right reasons, but it is an issue to talk back to the Congress Party and its head honchos if they talk too much about the Rafale deal without evidence.
Still Rafale deal will remain as an election issue, but not a primary one as the Congress Party had hoped about previously. Only if they do then they have to explain the done deal of purchase of P8i surveillance planes from the US.
