PM Narendra Modi in Vidisha: ‘Why drag my deceased father in politics’
After training guns at Congress for targeting his mother, PM Narendra Modi Sunday slammed the grand old party for “dragging his deceased father into politics”. Speaking to a public gathering in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha, the prime minister said, “kya kaaran hai ki aaj mere pita ji ko bhi ghasit ke le aaye, jo 30 saal pehle duniya chod ke chale gaye hain. Aur Congress ke naamdaar kehte hain ki Modi Ji bhi to mere parivar ke liye bolte hain”.

(What is the reason to drag my father into politics who passed away 30 years ago? Congress’ ‘Namdaar’ says Modi Ji also speaks about his family)

Earlier, Bharatiya Janata Party had tweeted a video of Congress leader Vilasrao Muttemwar where the latter was seen saying that no one knows the name of PM Narendra Modi’s father.

Rahul Gandhi ke pitaji ka naam Rajiv Gandhi tha ye sab log jaante hain. Rajiv Gandhi ki mataji ka naam Indira Gandhi tha ye bhi sab log jaante hain. Indira Gandhi ke pitaji ka naam Jawahar Lal Nehru tha… lekin ye Narendra, iske pitaji ka naam to kisi ko bhi nahi pata,” Muttemwar, a former union minister, was seen saying in video shared by BJP on Twitter.

On Saturday, Modi slammed Congress for ‘abusing’ his mother saying that the party did not have issues to talk about. “When one doesn’t have real issues to talk about, he resorts to abusing somebody else’s mother,” the prime minister had said.

Congress leader Raj Babbar had kicked up a row in Indore on Thursday when he compared the falling value of rupee against US dollar with the age of the prime minister’s mother.

he said he will give many litres free- he did that and state has surplus

He's coming back to power my friend, and then he will conquer other states- chilli powder, putting ink etc. ain't gonna save BJP.

He should have focussed only on Delhi & proved himself there before moving onto other metropolitan areas. For AAP is primarily an urban phenomenon. He tried to jump the gun & do too many things at the same time. With the result he fell between two stools.

High voting percentages almost always translate to anti incumbency. I'd say Shivraj Singh Chauhan is in trouble.
The trends till date have shown that high polling percentage has always helped BJP because in case of anti-incumbency, the committed voters stay home and do not come out to vote. Take the case of Gujrat. The polling percentage in 2018 was less than 2013 polls and we all know that BJP just managed to sail thru.
The biggest factor is RSS and when RSS joins in with full force in any election, they make an impact.

he has already proved himself in delhi....maybe you should leave the politics to him because he seems to have trumped everyone else. He defeated congress, then defeated both congress and BJP so massively that they're a joke on delhi. And despite all the efforts to throw ink at him, make life difficult through governor, frequently move civil servants and attack him in every way he has delivered. If there is another elecion in Delhi today, he will still win with overwhelming majority. you should probably stop advising him on how to do this stuff. He seems to be very very good at it.

Irrespective of the party in power, high voter turnout almost always signifies anti incumbency. In Gujarat, the BJP was almost done in, before the last phase of polls, before which Modi & Shah made a huge pitch in the name of Gujrati asmita - indirectly conveying to the voter, that Gujarat's & Modi's pride were at stake. The electorate bought the emotional pitch and the BJP scraped thru with less than 100 seats, the first time in nearly 2 decades. Lets get some local inputs here. Your views @Pundrick.

RSS has taken full responsibility for Rajasthan also after Vasundhra Raje agreed to all the conditions of RSS including changing MLAs.

Rajasthan is a lost case. Let's see how much the RSS machinery is able to stem the loss.

I am from Hyderabad telangana- Please hear me out for a second.

My grand parents' endured the NIzam rule where Urdu was the language forced upon everyone (even brahmins) so much so that the telugu in the region now has a distinct urdu touch (and hence the telangana dialect).
The razaakar movement destroyed property of many non-mulsims and threatened a lot of Hindus existence.

the region (hyderabad) was under the Nizam rule even while Under the british and \subsequently was ruled by Congress for the most time but supplanted by the MIM (Owaisi) for a good amount of time.

so: the Muslim population was the ruling class
The Hindus were the oppressed sections

in the election Manifesto of the COngress (For the Telangana region) has the following:

In its manifesto, the party has promised schools for Muslims and free electricity to churches and mosques and make Urdu the second official language in the state.

free electricity for Churches and Mosques - what about temples?
schools for muslims - what about Hindus?
Urdu second language of the state - is Urdu the language of the state?

can you guys please post these in your social media so as to show the farce that is the congress? how much more divide and rule can we take? why the step children treatment for Hindus?

The schemes are - free electricity to mosques and churches, special opportunities in government contracts for the Muslim youth, Rs 20 lakh aid to poor Muslim students, residential schools for Muslims, hospitals for minorities, special Urdu DSC (District Selection Committee) for minorities, and punishment to firms for hiring on the basis of religion.

Telangana election: SHOCKING Congress manifesto vows ‘Muslim-only schools, govt contracts’ – DETAILS

BJP will emerge king maker in Telangana. I had predicted 4-1 with allinace in Telangana with loss of Rajasthan about a week back but also stated that it could be 5-0 for BJP. The latest trends emerging from Rajasthan is that nearly every upper caste has rallied behind Raje as they don't want to see a Gujjar CM. The jaats are the single largest block of voters in Rajasthan and thanks to RSS, all are going to vote for BJP so will Thakurs and Brahmins. What Congress did in Telangana and MP has not gone down well with any hindu anywhere in India. The reverberations of Telangana will not only shake the congress foundations in Telangana but also all over India.

Whether he has proved himself in Delhi or not will be known in 2020 elections. In my visits to Delhi in the past 4 years, the lower strata comprising mostly the blue collar seemed satisfied with the performance of AAP. As far as the middle classes were concerned it appears to have been a mixed bag with a lot of griping concerning demonetization among the trading community - traditionally an RSS bastion. Yet the BJP easily won the Municipal elections in 2017. But the members here from Delhi would know better.

Up until 1989, the trend in elections had been that the electorate voted on local issues in state elections & voted differently in the national elections. One saw the trend right thru the Indira Gandhi years & RG's term up until 1989 , which changed the pattern . 1991 but more specifically 1996 changed all that.

We saw a restoration of the old trend in 2014. Every state election since then has broadly confirmed this trend. Final confirmation will be received once the 2019 general elections are concluded, to signify whether 2014 was an aberration or a repeat of the old pattern.

the whole manifesto of TRS, Congress, TDP reeks of minority appeasement. free electricity to churches and mosques? why? arent hey already built on temple lands in the first place?
12% reservation for Muslims? this takes away the merit based selection of a hindu to provide to a Muslim - how long will this continue?

It used to be said of the Bourbons, following their restoration in the aftermath of Napoleon's deposition that they haven't learnt anything from history nor forgotten anything. The same can be said of the Congress. More than the BJP, I think the MIM will play a pivotal role. Having said that, I think KCR is a favorite to win with a simple majority. Although the Congress + TDP coalition will give him some trouble.

Thanks for tagging.
You are spot on. BJP won the assembly election only in the last phase, but there were several factors involved due to confusions create by INC. This was clearly INC election but they created lot of confusion in poeple's mind in the name of caste mathematics, that BJP which almost lost this election did manage to survive in the last phase. Yes Modi had to take to the last resort, i.e. Gujarat's ashmita and pride, etc.

In my constituency where INC victory is inevitable during assembly polls,it faced very surprising situation where INC candidate won by hardly 8k votes, when they could have sealed victory by 20k+ margin. It was all confusion within the OBC & Patel community.
