Indian Political Discussion

Shiv Sena had constructed flats and handed over the same. Some sold them and immediately came on footpath to beg again, others put them on rent and went begging.

In Hyderabad, people have houses and cars. They live on outskirts. Then, every morning, they drive down, change and beg at Lights.

Damn, it pays!

Zero in lok sabha 2019 and may be less than 5 in 2020 in assembly elections.
I agree with your findings about the LS. I'm not too sure they'd perform as badly as you predict in the Assembly elections. I have a feeling they'd come back to power with a reduced majority.

Congress supported them in 2014 & 15. In 2015, congress did not even fight the elctions with vigour and all opposition parties joined hand. in GE, congress wants to regain its vote share in Delhi and I do not foresee AAP candidates even retaining their deposits. The same will be repeated in 2020.

Is a Congress-BJP alliance even remotely believable? It seems absurd to me. I don't see Rahul Gandhi wanting to ally with a party that he has constantly attacked these last few months; and I don't see Narendra Modi wanting to ally with a party as corrupt as the Congress. This just doesn't make sense to me.

But I'll admit I've mostly followed Indian politics through the prism of defense issues, especially the Rafale deal, so perhaps it's less unlikely than it seems to me.

Media was fully occupied with Surgical Strike-2 and either failed to take notice of, or intentionally neglected, one very important judgement passed by Delhi High Court in the case of AJL/ National Herald case, on Thursday, having very far reaching implications.

Read para 65 of AJL Young India National Herald case judgement by Delhi HC. In any other country, these words would have finished the public career of the politicians involved. But here they will continue to thrive with bought out media.

Para 65:- We have no hesitation in holding that the entire transaction of transferring the shares of AJL to Young Indian was nothing but, as held by the learned writ court, a clandestine and surreptitious transfer of the lucrative interest in the premises to Young Indian," the division bench said on Thursday, adding that it "only indicates the dishonest and fraudulent design behind such transaction".
Some will ask why it is national Security matter- Any leader who is desires to occupy high post must be above board. The Judges are emphatic in stating dishonest and Fraudlent.

But even BJP has not exploited it politically.
