Now that the Indo Pak stand off is on a low simmer, time for the docile Kashmiris to hit the streets again. The real fun begins now. How far will Pakistan go towards supporting the internal unrest. I sincerely hope the BJP promulgates an ordinance nullifying Article 370 too, though I'm not too sure if it can be done.

I agree with your findings about the LS. I'm not too sure they'd perform as badly as you predict in the Assembly elections. I have a feeling they'd come back to power with a reduced majority.
Congress supported them in 2014 & 15. In 2015, congress did not even fight the elctions with vigour and all opposition parties joined hand. in GE, congress wants to regain its vote share in Delhi and I do not foresee AAP candidates even retaining their deposits. The same will be repeated in 2020.
Is a Congress-BJP alliance even remotely believable? It seems absurd to me. I don't see Rahul Gandhi wanting to ally with a party that he has constantly attacked these last few months; and I don't see Narendra Modi wanting to ally with a party as corrupt as the Congress. This just doesn't make sense to me.
But I'll admit I've mostly followed Indian politics through the prism of defense issues, especially the Rafale deal, so perhaps it's less unlikely than it seems to me.
