India should step up and try to capture more russian market, but instead just keeps just buying oil with no matching exports which is not a workable long term approach.
Either step up manufacturing of high value goods for export or send labor to russia to compensate for deficit.
There are Indian companies who can export, but not doing it for fear of sanctions.
then India for should forget about becoming a 10 or 15 trillion dollar economy if they cannot expand their export base.
chinese are doing it even after so much pressure from west , thats what India should do. Indian govt thinks that if they crawl before west they will be gifted with more trade, at the end of the day we will be become heavily dependent on western economies and they will screw us royally.
Just like oil trade we need to diversify , lesser our dependence on few big markets better chance of consistent growth in longer term.
