Isn't it strange that Tochka purchase is announced by Babaji and not by anyone else? It's not purchasing artillery shells it's a ballistic missile, it's big item yet Baba is the orignal source of this!
Ofcourse this is all assuming the news is true..which is doubtful.But then again doval is in russia.and baba is his man.Lets see.I personally would have prefered kalibr missiles..but those are not cheap.
I don't really comment on such topics but the news on tochkas is simply ludicrous
In the first place Tochkas were the inspiration behind the Prithvi missiles but notwithstanding that fact
Why buy a system when you have a comparatively better system interms of guidance , choice of payloads , increased range , a well established logistic , test and maintenance trail , a well established command and control for the same , a well established SOP for deployment , pre firing test & check procedures , weapon release protocols for the same ?
And that too for few numbers , is it really worth the effort interms of required investment be it training of human resource , requisition of resources in support of the same , costs incurred , investments in the maintenance and logistic chain , time spend operationalizing it etc ?
No offense but It reminds me of the Pakistans and the excitement over 250 million dollar F16s
Also AFAIK considerable no of older Prithivi missiles have be relifed , upgraded and geared towards conventional roles

India has no plan to operate Tochka. Where did this story come from? It's an obsolete missile anyway. Even the Russians are replacing it with Iskander.
Anyway, MRSAM has been in operation in India since 2016. I think you got confused with the army's MRSAM project which will start deliveries only next year.
We will use ballistic missiles on Pakistan only during times of war, not now.
