Jammu & Kashmir live updates: GOI remove all provisions of Article 370

Nearly three different infiltrations reported. One from South, One from Rajasthan and one from Gujarat. Are we going to wait for a terror attack, before we deal with them ? There is no other solution, than completely wiping that nation out from the face of the earth. Leting Pakistan live as a nation is akin to letting our civilians and soldiers get killed constantly.

Dude.. few years back when IISc was attacked, the guards only had lathis to protect themselves !!

I hope Bangalore is better prepared now ..

Should be as lax as it was then. Only slightly better.

Only areas protected by Central Govt are largely safe, like the airport, nuclear installations, dams and so on. Everything else is very likely free game when up against an AK-47.

But after a few dozen people are dead, we have the para commandos to deal with the problem.

Para commandos are useful only for a prolonged engagement. A shoot n scoot scenario like IISc needs immediate response and I am not sure Bangalore is prepared for that.

It's impossible to be prepared against such a thing. Look at all the school shootings in the US. But some critical places should definitely see the use of heavily armed guards, like IISC.

The reality is Bangalore doesn't even have a dedicated anti-terrorism squad.

Bengaluru needs an Anti-Terrorism Squad, say investigators probing terror cases

After SM Krishna lost power, things have gone bad for Bangalore. Nothing's being done in a decisive manner. The state has to be split into two for anything concrete to happen here, it's simply too diverse, so the votebank gets split.

Excellent counterpoint to the current narrative of the GoI but as usual instead of letting the interviewee elaborate, Karan Thapar the blabbermouth kills the interview by repetition & endless re iteration using different examples . What could have been an occasion to understand the true motives behind de operationalization gets lost in translation .

A good example to aspiring media personnel of how not to conduct an interview especially of you've a specialist in the chair.

A good interview nonetheless but which , but for the garrulous interviewer would've been great.

That's what they are supposed to have, it's college not a nuclear installation.

Soft targets will exist, even in a security state like Pakistan soft targets are there. That's why there is a concept of deterrence, for emergency situations there are alternate arrangements but don't except them to prevent it instantly, as one poster rightly said even US can't stop it with its full might. Relax nobody is attacking Bengaluru or getting away with it.

The thing that Rahul Gandhi has to come to bring Kashmir into news for Pakistan shows how badly Pakistan have failed to make it an issue of human rights.

I hope everyone is watching and from Rafale deal to Pulwama attack to Balakot strikes to today's visit everyone is noticing or will refresh the memory next time they vote.

It's lot more than a college and extremely important from India's security prospective. Let's say some of India's best technical minds certainly deserve better security than lathi wielding guards when many stupid politicians are given Z plus security.

I agree soft targets will exist, but there is always scope for improvement. Unfortunately our security apparatus is never utilized in an optimized fashion and heavily tilted towards securing politicians and VIPs.
