@Ankit Kumar

How advanced is the German sub compared to scorpene?
Depends upon what they are offering.

Type 214 or Type 216 derivative (like Singaporean Type 218 or Israeli upcoming Type 216 derivative).

If it's Type 216 derivative then it would be pretty much competing with the best Japan or South Korea operate. And maybe beating them. Almost second to none in endurance among SSKs. Stealthy, wide range of weapons, sensors & self defence which will be contemporary even in 2035 without upgrades.

Type 214 on the other hand is good. It's in my opinion more or less similar to Scorpene. Weapons, range, stealth etc.

This project would pave the way for order(s) for AIP Systems for the remaining five Kalvari Class submarines in the coming years. This could also open up possible export opportunities to other countries that operate Scorpene class submarines.

The Indian Navy will add more teeth to its already formidable arsenal in the coming years with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to sign a deal for acquisition of 26 Rafale-Marine fighters for the INS Vikrant aircraft carrier and a repeat order for building three more Scorpene (Kalveri) class submarines at Mazagon Dockyards Limited (MDL) through the “Make in India” route during his two-day visit to France this week, people familiar with the matter said.

Was wondering when was the DAC meet, usually happens by Saturday so could not find any news yesterday. Lets hope.

If the deal for additional Kalvari class subs is signed this month then how much time will it take to see the new sub in the water?
