How do you get rid of a low cost militant. There are hundreds of those illiterate or brainwashed chaps, unfortunately tied to one failed state and one religion.

Simple answer, you don't. You ensure that those who use them are too terrified to use them.

I'm not for war, but if IAF can come up with a 5th June 67 like raid, I'll take that. A couple of additional Afghani bases would help. In the next few decades, I see a war like situation ensuing over a subcontinental water crisis.

and how exactly do you propose that their air assets are destroyed? through a fidayeen attack or cruise missiles? because if we use our air force to take out their air force, then that's an open declaration of war.

So,let it be!

WAR is going to depend on Pakistan retaliation .I think world powers would step in to diffuse the situation before it escalate to this level.Even if Pakistan respond, with major portion of their air force gone we will pound them much harder.

Such step will serve us two purpose with one.We will be able to effectively punish Pakistan, with most of their air force destroyed we will achieve an upper hand over them ,before things escalates further.

Only non-state actors can pull that off, not another country.

The attack will only be possible with a mix of missiles and fighter jets.Yes, it will be a risky ,but war is never easy.

Is it hard to pull off?of course it is! Is it impossible,I don't believe so.I know they have got good AD capabilities, but then I am sure our air force must have war gamed it ,and have a plan for such contingencies.

It is not the easiest or perfect plan but I think it is worth considering. If you have to take easy way out ,pound the already abandoned terrorist camps on LOC with missiles, but that will not achieve anything significant nor will it hurt Pakistan much.

No one said we should hire TTP and or Balochis...

Let me break it down.

Lets say you mess with me daily. Unfortunately, we live in a country where neither police nor law works. So what do I do? Messing you head on is troublesome for me. You carry a knife. I also have one but that fight will leave both of us bloodied. I know you have family in the town and you cann't send them away. So, one day I beat up your kid black and blue. Next day you come all charged and I say "Oh, I didn't do it, you have so many other enemies." Also I keep my knife in full view. You try to mess with my family but most of them are out of your reach. Beside, if you hit one of my family member, I hit two of yours. Surely, you will hesitate in messing with me un-necessarily.

Just like there is no replacement of valor, there is no substitute of cowardice either.

I want our armed forces disbanded and make peace with China and Pak, give away Kashmir and AP.

If there is an all party meet tomorrow, things are escalating. The statements coming from opposition in support of forces and government should put our enemies on notice.

No one can ignore the support the Forces and Government now have from each and every Indian.

@Shajida Khan

We can't use conventional weapons on Pakistan so blatantly. We can, but the problem is they can also retaliate with the same calibre of weapons. So the onus will then fall on us to escalate, which will actually backfire.

Whatever we do should put the ball in their court, like the surgical strikes in 2016. They could not escalate from that point and had to instead lie to their people about it. We need to put them in an awkward position that puts a hole in their morale.

Said a nation with twice the arms to fight and 10 times the budget against a nation hardly have money to survive 2 months import.

What else needed for our armed force? A willful surrender out of good will from pakistan?

politically its a weird situation for BJP...
If an action is taken and it works, everyone will share the glory.
If it goes bad, they will yell that BJP messed it.

Naturally Modi / BJP want that they don't have to do anything because its a hard place for them.

Hence so much speeches etc.

They are being forced to act on this, though it is against their political interest.

Thats why they are trying symbolic things first. To buy out time. If the ferver dials down later they will do a surgical strike of some sort and claim victory and use it in election. If not... well, that will be worst. They will do some half arsed action.

Useless fellas. Not interested in blame game if political will is not there or armed forces hesitation.

Why should a common men die for either of the reasons. And yes, the jawans are common men.

If political leadership as well as military one is more than 100% sure that its an act by Pakistan along with daily sniping done by PA, give me a single reason not to conclude these act as an act of war?

This is no time for politics.

1. Get the opposition into confidence. This is not for political point scoring. Inform them of course of action, not specifics but general outline. Including people like Rahul, Akhilesh and Mayawati.

2. Inform China of a deadline for support on UN designation of Massod. Else, make it clear there will be a cost.

3. Once, decision is taken, let the armed forces respond.
