LCA Tejas Mk1 & Mk1A - News and discussions

That junk is in active duty since 2009 and will be 200+ in numbers before this Teja think enters active duty.

The JF-17's induction into squadron service in 2010 (not 2009) was before it was fully developed. And LCA entered squadron service in 2016. So the difference is not much.

If you consider JF-17 Block 2 as the true full-fledged fighter version, then it entered service in 2015, just 1 year before LCA Mk1.

Block 3 will enter service in 2021, that's about 2 or 3 years before Mk1A. And it's likely you will need a Block 4 just to match up to the capabilities of the Mk1A.

Even our IOC squadron would have had clocked more flying hours per airframe than their whole block 1 fleet per aircraft actually. Pretty much sums up everything.

It will be interesting to note how many flight hours the whole fleet has accumulated. IIRC, the total fleet hours was announced as 40,000 back in 2019.

They can say anything but aluminum airframe with 1200 (claimed) hours before MLU, with RD93.....

Although they say the airframe is for 4000 hours in 25 years with 1 minor Repair and 1 major MLU...

And mind it, they have not ordered a lot of RD93 either, they are very limited too.

Some Block 1s were overhauled only last year. It won't tell much, unless they come out and say it themselves.

Biggest irony is their propaganda which they believe themselves.

For around 10 years they were claiming BVR capability for jf17

Operational clearance ironically came in 2018 only. I have the video of the event.
A so called 4th gen aircraft was flying without bvr capability for so many years of operational service tells a lot about the problems associated with the same isn't it.

Also a jf17 crashed due to structural failure of the wing . One can see that later on they reenforced the wing attachment region with a spar.

Another jf17 crashed into the sea due to spatial disorientation of pilot . Crashed hushed up but news broke out in social media . No mention in press.

Lacks modern safety features inherent in modern 4 th gen aircrafts like disorientation recovery feature etc

- Ok no exports. In last 30 years HAL produced 700 + helicopter, 400+ fighters, 200+ trainers,100+ transport aircraft, 1000+ advanced aero engines, Avionics etc.
- Dassault just designs one fighter in 30 years and few business jets. So a different kind of company.
- HAL sustained 12/year MKI with all these other orders. So big deal that Dassualt 'sustained' 11 per year!
- Never delays -> Falcon 5X delayed once again at Dassault Aviation
- Mirage IV is not a fourth-gen fighter  Smaller is more difficult so LCA should be more?
- Yes rafale is very overpriced when you can get F-35A at $78 million.
- Entered service in 2004 so ten years without orders. Still the lowest of the bunch?

Dassualt is taking 5 years just to modify rafale to ISE standard. Here we expect HAL to make similar upgrades in 3 years. And HAL/DRDO overpromises everything and underdelivers.

Remember that when you take a dump on everything Indian.
-How many workers in HAL? 10.000 to 14.000 in Dassault. We will do the math after your answer.
- 12 MKI/year. from CKD kits, and even now all is not indian.
- Falcon 5X ? Not a Dassault case. It's a SAFRAN issue.
- Yes Tejas as a small fighter is more complicated to study and produce. So complicated that it is full of outgrowths...
- Comparing a multiyear FOC and mature 95€ million jet to a political only IOC 78$million jet is fool.

5 years just to adapt Rafale to indian spec : 1) You can be sure that in 5 years all will be OK, on time and on spec with Dassault. 2) In the same conditions HAL would have promise 3 years, and 8 years after the result would have been disappointing, as usual.

Just facts Bro. Nothing to do with pride.

The Chinese themselves during their airshow said that the KLJ7 radar can track 10 targets and engage 2 simultaneously. That's pretty much what our Bisons can do.

And for a 2m^2 target in good conditions the radar works hoti 70-75km...

They take 5m^2 target so that they can say 150km range.

Pathetic.

The Role of JF 17 is to Fire BVRs in large numbers to stop IAF

They will try to create a wall of JF 17s
Armed with SD 10s

PAF will not enter into a Dog Fight with IAF after Feb 27

I clearly read this
on Twitter after last year's battle

They were asking their experts as to why PAF fired Amraams from far away and not come closer to Su 30

And their expert said this " Su 30 is invincible within 25 KM "

The country which exhausts its stock of BVRs will loose

That is why we are accumulating all types of BVRs

For 5m2 target uplook range is 105km ( beyond that performance will start degrading )

So for 2m2 target range should be 50 km something

Lookdown range is even worse

KLJ-7 was 80Km vs 5m2 target. Upgraded to 105Km on V1 and similar to Zhuk-ME on V2. The Block 1s are still at the first one, which is similar to Mig-21 Bison.

Lol what happens when IAF starts firing BVRAAMs even before the so called wall of jf17 comes into position

Battlefield is fluid not a checkers board where one has to wait for his or her turn.

Let me predict something here today , in the coming days you guys will hear talk about LCA being turned into a mini growler of sorts

Evidence 1

Note to be confused with drdo HBJ pod which is for Su30mki

SMH

Of course yes , this where Numbers of Aircraft and their Loiter Time and BVR carrying capacity will come into play

That is why Both Su 30 and Rafale will make a Formidable team

What happens if IAF starts firing Brahmos when PAF fighter jets are taxing towards the runway? The flight time is just 3 min for supersonic version and 1.5 min for near-hypersonic version. ;)

Pak simply lacks the depth to do much in the face of new generation weapons and capabilities.

I will beg to differ

Su30mki and LCA will on the contrary make a formidable team

No need to involve Rafale except for EW role and specifically as a pivot in the background , baiting the por......

One never brings a scimitar in a knife fight

Rafale and Meteor will Kick Open the Door

Now imagine that they are accumulating the 30 plane package

We need just 2 Rafales firing 6 Meteors to disrupt their Preparation and bring down 3 or 4 planes

And once they are retreating we can push in the Sukhois and Mirages

We cannot place LRSAM or S 400 in
Every sector

P
And 4.5 generation only? Not 5th generation?
Active since 2009?
With what capabilities? LCA Tejas LSP were more capable than those block 1 JF-17s. Just go through what capabilities LSP 7&8 had. You will be ashamed of that Chinese JUNK.

200numbers?
Those 200 JF-17s won't be able to handle 123 LCA Mk1a when push comes to shove...

4.5 Gen fighter?
What would you call a fighter plane built with highest amount of composite material, 4axis quadraplex fly by wire, RSS, Advance AESA radar, datalinks, EW suite, MAWS, irst, sensor fusion, advance avionics?
Read here for more information on 4.5 gen fighter and then inform me which of the feature is not present on LCA Mk1a and also check if they are present on Chinese JUNK fighter 17...☺️☺️

Any jet with Su-30 makes a formidable team.
It's just that a chain is as weak as the weakest link.
We got on that link on 27th and successfully blocked IAF Voice communication and data link with SU-30 .
No wonder IAF scrambled for secure radios soon after.

So your claim that a single jet or type of jet is too strong, is not valid. An airforce works like a team and any if anything is broken or doesn't work, it will effect the entire force.
