We have no information about the THAAD procurement. It's also possible that US may bully India given it's urgent need, into cancellation of our S400 plans as as a precondition to selling the above mentioned system. Ar the end of the day its all about politics and business.
 
May be that news on shells, howitzers & THAAD all are fake. Any link for that?

No. It may be true and might get operational with iron dome for Delhi within next ten days. Lot of stuff has already come in on deffered payment basis. We dont have to pay upfront and can pay over a period of time unlike Kargil. Modi's HCQ game has changed everything. Plus world wants to settle things with China. Pakistan is not even in their game plan. India holds all the aces as of today, china has none.

There are two possibilities
A) the news altogether may be a fabricated one, just like most OSINT reporting.
B) if it is true, it may be sourced from US military arsenal, even OEM will not be able to produce 100 howitzers & 10k high-tech rounds.

And lastly THAAD, we never gonna get without backing of from s400 deal, yeah there may be a slight possibility of USA operating it in india for a short-term.

Beautiful more Air Defence, more weapons, just the kind of thing we need when we don't even have graveyard to bury the corpses due to Corona in national capital.

Priorities!

Few people either due to vested interests in commissions or just plain stupidity may put India few decade back. Once the war start it will become matter of pride for both nations and there will be no stopping till there is some big intervention of third party or without significant damages to both.

Hope better sense prevail.

Sir I am pretty sure if short skimish happens we have to use our airforce . But our airforce is no match for Chinese. Our best su30mki can't match Chinese. Even if bvr doesn't matter much in mountains the sheer number they possess will overwhelme our airforce. We have su30mki, mig29upg and m2k totalling more than 400. But they have 450+ Sukhoi copies and 300/400 j10 variants. Not counting bombers on both sides .

US systems will not come without a written agreement and US personnel
Deployed on Indian soil

It would be better if we get ISR help from them in the form of J-Stars aircraft

I think you need to wake up & smell the coffee. We aren't getting anymore than the contracted 140 odd M-777s for the time being. With the emphasis on atmanirbharta, you can bet that most of the subsequent orders for such systems will go to Kalyani.

My novice opinion: If things go south and war actually breaks out, we in our opening round should decapitate Pakistan first and then focus on China as any high voltage war with China will end us in a complete mess with messed up defences which Pakistan can then take advantage of. It's better to lose some land to China which we can later recover than allowing a Jihadi army to run over us.

Yeah I agree, missile defence over delhi is not a priority now. I dont think we will ever get to a situation where we will fire BM's or CM's at each other.
At the most we can only expect a rogue pakistan general fire a missile and that would be catastrophic for them. Stakes for chinese is high they have more to lose than us. We would better off equipping front line troops and stocking up war reserve for few more extra weeks if we end up getting into skirmishes.

Question is do they have capability to bring all those numbers against us??
Additionally does current geo-political scenario allows them to do so??
