I had stated it that the preparation for this stand off probably started just after we abrogated 370. And after that they created a land model of Aksai chin in their excercise area to war game this standoff and also a probable short war. They initially moved troops forward in April for an excercise and after that diverted them to present stand off site.
I am a bit surprised that they still pursued their plan ( given the fact that it includes a short war ) despite the COVID crisis and all of the world ganging up against them.
