Nothing in the mainstream media on this as of now. I am not fully sure about the authenticity of this THAAD procurement news. Also, IronDome wasn't mentioned anywhere.

The whole point of BMD is being able to stop BMs. If we consider the total count which China has, both in terms of missiles and MIRVs, I belive it can overwhelm any BMD system present on earth today. I kind of find this THAAD and iron dome to farce in the current context. What however makes sense it, procurement of offensive weapons, something that can help us maintain a sustained capacity and capability to hurt China. China doesn't give a damn about how many of their BMs we intercept, the damage will still be same. But when they get hurt equally, they will reconsider. If A5 has not yet been inducted, that should be priority number one for us now. As I see it, it is our singular credible deterrence against Chinese plans of using a BM on our cities in the first place.

Priorities!

Few people either due to vested interests in commissions or just plain stupidity may put India few decade back. Once the war start it will become matter of pride for both nations and there will be no stopping till there is some big intervention of third party or without significant damages to both.

Hope better sense prevail.

India haven't occupied anything or showed intentions of war in mid of a pandemic , but china did . Now how do you evict the Chinese ? by building more graveyards in Delhi or by ordering weapons to counter them ? Please enlighten us

4.5 lakh Indians died in 2018 due to TB... Even if 2 lakh people die due to covid till March, it is small change for a country of 1.38 billion. No need to dramatize the number of deaths..

1.38 billion is 13800 lakh. Divide it by 365 and you get 37.8. During these 37.8 years, we will have new births also. So even if 100k people die everyday, it will take nearly 50 years for our population to become zero. But much before that we would have entered herd immunity which will whole of the population immune to covid19.

A lot is happening between India, US, Israel, Australia and Japan. Chinese are in for a massive surprise. They have refused to allow Indians to patrol upto F8 or sirijap which we call IB. They are insisting that IA/ITBP will not intrude beyond F4. A situation not acceptable to India. Infact India has asked them to revert to pre 2005 situation. The 640sqkm they took after that has to be returned. India is willing to declare that as grey zone. Chinese have made F4 non negotiable. That gives them more of our territory. CDS has assured GOI that we can not only take over complete Aksai Chin from China but also hold additional territory in Eastern front by making a dash to Lhasa. only one brigade of Mountain strike division has been moved in AP border. Others are being kept on hot standby for deployment along whichever front India may open against China. This is also to make difficult enemies options and delay tactical deployment of its forces to counter the opposing force.
For once, we are being led by a very sharp and astute government. Chinese will loose all. Many are here to talk shit. I think they have an agenda of congress to create panic when it is not due. They are as stupid as Rahul Gandhi. A man can remain a child all his life. When we do pshychological analysis of a person we look for three traits, Parent, Adult & Child. I went thru it in IAF and also with Lufthansa and they call it DLR. I was found to be the most perfect man as per that model. maybe this is why I am what I am today. I blend with everykind of idiots and also matures. I am very clear in my mind and not afraid to call a chut$ya a Chut$ya. Irrespective of their qualifications.

Sir I was implying on my statement that USA will be the ultimate gainer in any conflict b/w India and China.
I have no reasons to contest your claim on that deal.
But my statement is not based on these petty issues but on far bigger geo-political appreciations.

Regarding cost, I had posted how we were in 1965 and how we were in 1971. Today we have reserves in USD over 100 times compared to those days. Infact on dollar basis we have reserves over ten times what we were in those wars and our GDP today is three times only in reserves what we had in 1971 after correcting for inflation of USD.

In 1999 kargil war, some idiots from the school of owls stated that it will take 35k trucks over two months to support war effort in Kargil. IAF IL-76 guys flew day and night, non staop including sleeping within the aircraft and they delivered the men and ammo within two weeks. Wg. Cdr Jamwal and wg. cdr Gill who landed the second IL-76 in Male as part of Op cactus were my batch mates in Jetairways. Wg.Cdr Gill is dead but Jamwal is still my very good friend.

Arrey there is no such tension like that basically but Chinese wants India to buy their stuff and stay away from that gang which Trump is forming. Chinese are doing pressure tactics, due to the economic loss which they face due to lack of consumer in future. That's why China is frustrated.
