Just deleted what I really wanted to post and decided to give another day to put my opinions here.

I have a theory... Modi or any political fears to fight China for a reason. Reason is simple. ANY defeat at the hand of China... minor or major... will lead to complete destruction of Political career of that person. Why? Because Nehru and VK Krishna Menon were hounded into oblivion because of this. This time around the political opponents will do the same with Modi or any other political leader. Heck I guess it extends to Beaurocracy for the same reason.
This causes a permanent fear of China. This is why all this diffuse diffuse diffuse bullshit is happening.

Escalation has already happened at Indo China border and NoKo and SoKo border. Seems China is ready for the skirmish. India wants delay and to counter India's delay tactics, they have intentionally took a colonel. India is not in position to fight for now. India needs to concentrate on the Corona crisis.

I am not sure anymore... For all I know someone in Beaurocracy is ordering white flags in bulk. That too from China to boot. The new strategic weapon of South Block.
I doubt he did. It was done by local military commanders. He and rest of beauracy worked out a solution to walk out of it... with a relative intact "image".
