SFF consists of mostly Tibetans - Monpas, khampas , other Tibetans, etc. Good fighters but they couldn't save their own country.
SSB - mostly consists of Gurkhas, Bhotiyas, etc. Excellent fighters. Never lost independence.

SFF is a covert fighting force / special forces unit under operational command of R&AW just as SAC / SOG with various components drawn from the Green Berets, Navy Seals ( Devgru) , Rangers, Delta Force, etc under operational command of the CIA.
SSB - border protection para military force primarily posted on the Nepal, Bhutan & parts of Bangladesh.
Take your pick & decide accordingly which unit fits your needs
Because it looks more like a Chinese ambush with iron rods & knives. If that is the case, the company Indian forces is unlikely to be armed with iron rods & knives.
I read somewhere that troops patrolling the LAC don't carry weapon to avoid some trigger happy bloke from starting a shooting match.

Obviously the SFF local tibetans. For example, the PLA were carrying knuckles rods, knives and other lethal tools. Were the chaps on Indian side aware of this info? It seems there was lack of local info at IA's disposal.
Because it's not about defending or fighting I am talking about, it's about penetrating and getting what you need. SSB may do well across Indo Nepal border but I doubt they will be as efficient as SFF.

Strong recommendation: Take OSNIT/ASSNIT with truck load of salt, infact one should avoid believing them as most of the time they proved to be wrong. When it comes to LAC their reach or source are quite weak as they are mostly LOC specific.

When you let enemy sit in your territory for months then naturally next logical step is he will slap you, once you develop tolerance to his slaps, then he will kill you.
