Was about to post this but you beat me to it. Nothing can be said with certainty on what's transpired out there last night. The first impressions conveyed were that this was a pre meditated act by the Chinese. This could well be the situation with the first act perpetrated by the Chinese followed by Indian retaliation but out here we don't know for sure .
If this is the case & assuming no Indian action or retaliation, we can well take what the Chinese sources say with a pinch of salt. After all the GT times reporter who first tweeted the news was doing so quoting an Indian source. The GT editor corroborating her story could well be providing a fig leaf to India by alleging Chinese casualties given how closely Indian media follows GT.
OTOH, this could well be the IA escalating the issue at the troubled spot by trying to physically evict the Chinese or fierce retaliation after Chinese precipitation which resulted in IA casualties. In which case, we'd have to see what the Chinese govt sources & GT say in new light. There's too much of smoke & mirrors play out there atm, in my opinion.
However, this melee has highlighted one truth that the Chinese have come over to the Indian LAC at least in the fingers / Pangong Tso lake & the Galwan River Valley area. The actual area under occupation by the Chinese is still to be ascertained.

No sir, ALL governments work under dabbawala babus. Netas have to spend most of the time in managing their image and most of the real nuts and bolts are done by dabba-wala babus. So long the image of neta-jis are not impacted, dabba-walas run the show.

1 Yesterday in the evening , lA bn was waiting since morning to ensure that PLA tps to fall back to Post l which was 5 kms to the East as per the disengagement plan decided on 6 Jun 2020 Corps cdr level meeting held at area near Chusul.
2 At one stage ,the Chinese troops got ready to go back but they suddenly turned back & assaulted lndian troops. CO 16 Bihar & his two escorts were knocked down by iron poles & stones .No shots fired
Indian troops also retaliated & in close unarmed combat assaulted the PLA soldiers. The unarmed combat continued for several hours . Around mid night ,the troops disengaged
3 In the morning, it was confirmed that CO & two soldiers succumbed to injuries.
4 .Close doors meetings are in progress .Meanwhile China has requested lndia to maintain restrain & not to take unilateral action.
5. The situation is volatile and more serious than what is being reported. Whether it will escalate only time will tell.

I don't know how much SSB is capable of gathering stuff across LAC as compared to SFF but need of the hour is some 1980's style SFF ops.

What makes you beleive that they have not suffered causalities, There are causalities on other side too. But since you know how they and their media operates, you may not get the exact data. There are info but not confirmed, so dont want to speculate....
