Line of Actual Control (LAC) : India & Tibet Border Updates

Charan sparsh gurujan. Are you aware that just like the Indian parliament had passed an act in 1994 declaring PoJ&K to be our territory & it's retaking to be on the agenda, the same Parliament had passed a similar act in 1962 during the Sino Indian conflict pledging to retake the whole of Aksai Chin?

I am aware, but that region Aksai Chin has been intruded by Chinese, the Chinese are on Indian territoy and not just that, they are much further inside Indian territory as per India presumed LAC. I am afraid that they will want to fix a deal with India at Galwan, that, India can take Galwan where as the rest of the Aksai Chin the current status, goes to China permanently. Some one had written here that Chinese may be interested in solving border dispute ASAP with India as well to get rid of old rivalries.

Saying that they are not on Indian territory is not correct.

Looks like Chicom's plan is in disarray. Global Times giving explanation twice in a week why KIA No has been withheld. Game over for this year. Next push will hit us by May 2021.

What stands out in that statement from global times, is that there have been significant fatalities( not just casualties) among the PLA ranks. While we can quibble about the actual numbers, this much is certain that there were fatalities. Global times claim that they have withheld the figures out concern for the image of the BJP govt is the most laughable excuse that i have heard. Imagine Pak govt withholding similar info out of concern for the image of the Modi govt.

When the GoI is bound by an Act of Parliament stating that India is obliged to retake Aksai Chin, why does this PM or any PM have to reiterate it ? Besides when there's a Flashpoint as we've seen on 15th June, is the PM expected to douse the fire or further feed the flames?

The Chinese are now trying to reclaim those areas that they occupied briefly in 1962 but vacated immediately to go back to roughly that area which is now considered to be their part of their LAC. Ever since India reactivated its plan to develop it's infrastructure on its side of the LAC in response to the Chinese doing likewise, the Chinese fear we are preparing for the retaking of Aksai Chin.

At the same time, they don't want a settlement. Further they've stated consistently since 2009 that they don't share a border with India in Ladakh.

Taken together particularly with what they precipitated on 15th June not even a fool would believe that they would be satisfied with solely retaking those areas they briefly held in 1962.

Now, if you haven't understood this much, the GoI isn't obligated to come to you & whisper in your ears their present situation or future game plan.

This is a welcome move from GoI.

Also, I was watching India Today & as per the analysis, it is possible that Chinese mainly targeted the Pangong area & upto finger 4.
Galwan might have been a diversion.
The analysis also notes - since China has a road which is not visible and hence cannot be observed from F1 - F3, but can be observed from F4 onwards.
Hence they want to deny access to F4 onwards to India.

Not sure about authenticity, but in case of high fatalities, Chinese people will quickly turn against their own government. Not that it matters since they will be killed to by the Chinese government as well.

But internal stability is essential when a country is planning on expansion of its territory.

Nothing special there. Only democracies honour their dead during a conflict.

@nair We are seeing many claims of their CO getting killed, however I am not able to find anything from Chinese twitter handles. Are the news channels reporting about meeting discussion via sources or is there any other link?

There is no Chinese link anywhere. All reports either claim Indian "sources" or cross link each other. Army has claimed casualties to the chinks but has not offered more details.
