I asked SF if they have a NGO in their name. In that case it would have been a task of writing a proposal around "Ensuring government accountability" and "Assessing Human rights in India". The Planet Labs data is available for free via European Space Agency 3rd Party Access Program to universities and NGOs. An NGO working on "Government accountability" and "Human Rights" is easy sell to ESA. Unfortunately, there is none.
Sooo...... Now I am going for plan B. No, not that one. I will try contact the local human rights group / NGO here in Canada and write a research proposal under their aegis.
Secondly, there is this thing called SecureWatch from digitalglobe (thanks to pointing to it @BlackOpsIndia ). These people sell image on per GB basis. All the recent high resolution pics are from these folks and their satellite WorldView 2/3. I have written to them asking for their price.

We are getting these AAMs directly from Russian AF stock and they have a much longer range than what has been published by many. These are not export quality stuff but the real stuff operated by Russian AF.
A doubt here - you mean to say exported stuff are inferior to the 'real' stuff that RuAF uses?
Any details on what basis these exported stuff are inferior to ones we (may) have received now?
In that case, what ever we import, say, S400 will be inferior to what is used by the Russian air defence forces?

What short sightedness?
This is the only government which has taken border infrastructure seriously. It was the previous lovely non-nationalist regime's which thought that the best strategy of fighting the Chinese is to have no infrastructure at all. The government can be critiqued after this drama is over similarly to how they were critiqued post Wuhan but whining as if we have already lost a war is just negative and not constructive at all.

would the software in the Flanker's radar and the Firing computer be compatible with these AAMs or would that need tweaking- because if tweaking is needed, then that means that there needs to be extensive tests done before combat deployment.
I really hate it how we as a nation just cannot stop politicising an issue of national security.

Those tents are most likely Chinese. The only thing that might be Indian are the troops that might have captured them. Just a speculation...
