Line of Actual Control (LAC) : India & Tibet Border Updates

Whats with a ex army chief coming on tv today to say that India cannot beat china and giving reasons to stay pacifist ? (Gen Malik).
Every man and his dog in India wants his 2 minutes of tv time.
At a time of possible serious conflict, is this the correct message to give to the men at the border ?
The government needs to put a ban on senior retired officers from commenting or giving interviews.
War will cone whether we like it or not. Need of the hour is to build up strength in both equipment and manpower. Morale and confidence are critical in such a situation .

It puts pressure on the govt to do exactly that: Build up strength in both equipment and manpower.

I am a spent cartoos as I stated longback. trust only those who are in saddle and know the situation on ground. I want to ask just one question? Why is IA mobilising for war if we had accepted the ground gained by China between F4 & F8? as fait accompli? Why have the visits of Corps commanders who have strike corps as part of their dispensation increased all across the frontier? I can tell you more but I decide to keep silent. Just for the information of all the members, all IAF pilots sitting on desk jobs have been given recurrency training to join active squadron strength. We do it only when war is imminent. No bullet has been fired across chinese front in last 45 years. Whom are we doing this preparation for and for what?

It may be possible our "seriousness" is being done for negotiations instead.

As I suspected, I am in minority when it comes to opinion of handling of Chinese and defence matters. A good portion of India is in support of India's (mis?)-handling of border intrusion.

even @Falcon had stated that negotiations and diplomacy must go on even during actual war to find a post conflict solution. In the war between Alexander and Porus, Alexander had sent six emissaries to Porus to stop the war within the battlefield.
As much as I know and I also agree that time for India to call reserve and escalate was in June. Now that China's forces have been reinforced and deeply entrenched.

That's different. I'm referring to the moves being made in order to help with pre-war negotiations.

are you sure? They never expected IA to do mirror deplyoyment.
But, there is no news of reserves being called up.. As war on LAC will drag on for some time.. Any Indian offensive must begin well before the mountain passes close with snow fall, as this would render Indian movements difficult..

We will strike China first and force Pakistan to attack us.
I think exactly the same. There will be major outcome of the coming war. With Japan, S Korea, Taiwan, Australia and the US inflicting china from its East and South, India will manage China's SW and W as well as Pakistan. Both Terrorist gangster territories will split into several pieces with the rising of internal revolt as well.

It could be a gamble thinking Winter might limit the length of any potential campaign

Don't get too excited. It all depends on the U.S election if Biden comes to power we could be stranded alone to fight along with maybe the Japanese. A lot of wierd predictions are coming.
The escalation may actually start around October if that happens it's good for us. But if it gets delayed to November we might get screwed...

We shouldn't send mixed messages to the Chinese.
If the government is serious about getting the occupied area vacated, pressure should be unambiguous.
No peace talk or weak talk on tv by politicians or retired senior people.
reducing Chinese embassy strength.
Restricting visas to Chinese.
Making noise on hk and tibet.
Targeting xi personally, Chinese are very image conscious.
Putting sanctions on their crown jewels like their mobile industry and software like pubg.
Cancelling leave of all defence personnel.
Mobilizing our reserves.

And what i have said before, just withdrawing to previous positions is kicking the ball into the future, does not change Chinese behavior.
We have lost a CO and 20 men , some blood should be shed demonstrably on the Chinese side.
A few sniper pick ups of their officers is a bare minimum. Its very effective low intensity pressure. Does not escalate and puts the ball in their court

Your disdain for Indian war-making potential is stuff of SFO legends. No one knows really.

Results should speak for themselves & we have lost this round (while lizard-Shee won without PLA firing a round), thanks to Cheeni BioWarfare lizards have unleashed across the globe. So, can't say that you are misconstruing it completely.
My disdain is not for the present situation, war fighting ability etc etc. My disdain is for the simple lack of will -- majorly among the Holy Leadership Trinity and to a (much?) lesser extent among the Indians at large. Lack of will to defend what is ours. Lack of will to prepare to defend what is ours. This is uniquely Indian and perhaps is somewhat new too. Most likely a product of post Indra Gandhi to present times. And I refuse to believe it has anything to do with poverty. Indians are poor but Indian government is fairly rich. Indian government always acts like a spoilt nouveau-riche middle class person's son.

On a lighter note my thoughts are best expressed by this meme and the actual gentleman in the picture.

I just wish Indian Leadership prepares for defending India in earnest.

In one of the previous posts @Falcon said contrary opinion that India is not mobilising and not calling reserves.

India is the largest producer of the metal needed to boost the yield of nuke devices and we even export it to USA.
TRITIUM, a key ingredient for hydrogen bombs and boosted fission bombs....☺
We are the largest producer of it. We get it as a by-product while making Heavy Water which was once denied to us, now we're the largest producer of heavy water too and export it without even entry into NSG. NSG, FMCT my foot...,😊
