Line of Actual Control (LAC) : India & Tibet Border Updates

Is it possible to take over Depsang in a stealth mode like what IA has been doing so far? Catching them unaware and outwitting them.
Not possible. The terrain does not support such actions and the terrain which does support such actions is way faraway from the area of interest.

What about capturing it overnight when chinks are sleeping?

That's childish. In current situation, there will be forces on guard. There won't be a situation when the entire/majority of the soldiers are asleep.
So, no, not possible. To take Depsang, it has to be an assault with probably armoured confrontation may be with air support. That is not happening till there is a full fledged war.

Is it possible to lure them out of Depsang into the hills?

The Objective of any Shooting battle will
Be to inflict casualties

Large number of Casualties is the one thing that will make them bend

Even if we occupy some territory or
Peak , they will.regroup and restart their
Attacks

If you analyze their history, they don’t give a damn about casualty numbers. They will keep sending waves of soldiers and we need to defend ourselves against all odds.

Not any more. If we are not the India of 1962, they are not China of 1962. People, especially young soldiers are a more precious commodity for Chinese. Thank the great leap forward.

Well we are the only ones who can outdo them if it comes to human waves. And you are overestimating PLA ladyboys to run more than 100 meters in ladakh. They will be tired before they could even see IA bunkers.

Forget about 1962, they drove tanks on their own population in broad daylight, in Tiananmen square.
Another question is what kind of casualty we are talking about, 10000 or a million!! If the answer is 1 million, I would strongly agree with you. If it’s 10000, that’s a drop in the ocean for a country with 1.4 billion population.
One should be ultra careful while assuming enemy’s weakness. Helps in planning for risk mitigation.

May be. But I would rather over estimate them rather than under estimating their capabilities!!

When it comes to it the communists have never hesitated killing their own people. this has been proven over and over again.
