Line of Actual Control (LAC) : India & Tibet Border Updates

War, yes. Two-front war, it requires a lot of odds in its favour for it to actually happen. And definitely not in the current situation since Pak is completely not ready for war. And this goes entirely against China's favour even though they could be "winning". There's no point in China winning a two-front war only to see Pakistan destroyed in the process. And if the war goes nuclear, even the Chinese might get sucked in, so they most definitely will not want to put themselves in such a situation in the first place.

But, from our perspective, it's simply a good idea to be prepared for such a war nevertheless. The only issue is we are not ready to deal with China either either. We need to buy new tanks, vehicles, artillery and modernise the infantry and our comm systems first. Not to mention all the various other support systems.
Do k9 Vajra deployable in ladak & NE front?

Lol. So if a rod is 10m long and a stick is 5m long, according to you the stick is longer because a rod has manufacturing defects?

Cheers.
Lol, no dear.

You are more likely to get the specifications of a rod (length, diameter, material it is made of) correct than say a prism with non equilateral crossection. It will have all the specification points of rod plus lenghts of individual sides of its crossectional face.

More number of variables = more complexity (in number of variables in specification) = more chance of intentionally or unintentionally misrepresenting the fact. Kapish?

I think those helicopter transportable M-777 pieces may be used. @Falcon your opinion please.

No. Those are deployed in the plains, against Pak.

We have towed guns instead, and MGS in the future, probably.
So mostly we will order extra light weight howitzers from USA.i dont know why our top braz has ordered such a miniscule numbers for that highly effective howitzers

M777 is for the MSC. Other units can used other types of cheaper towed guns.

Yes. They genrally don't say anything about their own military unless a press document is released by the govt, which is more or less accurate
Suuure! Sometimes back there was a Chinese poster in a trade show on JF-17 which claimed it can fire AMRAAM. Now am I to believe that US allowed AMRAAM to be integrated with Chinese radar?

If you want to take Chinese specs at face value, then go ahead! Ask Iraq, Jordan, Algeria how reliable and usable their weapons are.

So how many can you deploy in Ladakh and how many for Pak, and then you need for other areas as well in NE. At least 1k should be the available numbers.
You do know that US has about 1000 of these ones deployed in all, right? We bought 145 of these cuties for some 900M green backs or so. We did get a license to manufacture them locally but devil knows how many were allowed to be manufactured and what will we be asked to pay for futher 900 more.

I think the MSC is getting them all. So that's for Sikkim and AP. Ladakh will need another MSC in the future, so we will need more guns then. Ladakh has other types of guns.

Rawat has shown interest in Kalyani's gun as well. So, while the 2 MSCs may get M777, other units may get Kalyani guns with the much cheaper steel base instead of titanium.

Okay, the Chinese are all dumb. We don't even need to do anything in Ladakh, after all they can't even walk without tripping over themselves. 🙄

Your posts are getting dumber by the minute, I'm done.

Mahindra defence is producing them. 25 they already have got from BAE in ready condition. And what I read on internet , well they might be deploying them this year.
Total 7 regiments planed with 18 units in each. They were keen to get 500 more but cost is a factor and they don't have time.

Yeah right! I don't believe in all this Chinese do this and chinese do that bullshit. You know what is dumb, believing in specs without even having any single external verification of those "facts". That is the very very fundamental of "dumbness". Come back when all the great specs of Chinese wares are externally verified. Each time when a Chinese platform was subjected to external scrutiny, they fell short.

Curse western weapon makers as much as you want, but they have more verification and vouching for their weapons, because many many many countries use them and they have a combat history behind them. Till then, Ching Chong chinese are not believable. And those who take Chinese ads hook line and sinker are well... stupid.

I read IA was interested in getting 500 more apart from 145. But the point is, when??? They haven't even raised or fully deployed the regiments with the 25 units which they were getting in ready condition. In 2017 they got two units and by now they should have raised atleast one or two regiments know?

Guess that settles "1000" pieces part. We have to go for cheaper alternatives.

Some thing which can come at par with their rocket artillery.
Development of A200, 2 pods with four 300-mm rockets each, with a range of 290 km and integrated GNSS/INS guidance.[29][30][31] 30 to 45 m circular error probable (CEP).[32]

Yes, may be. I don't know if using a rocket artillery will be considered an escalation. Ching Chongs have WeiShi rockets --- devil knows how accurate or reliable they are but a similar kind of rockets may be useful for us.
100-300 KM with cheap GPS assisted inertial guidance (strapped on) will be useful. I don't know how well it works in mountains though. @Falcon or @vstol Jockey can comment about how well rocket artillery works in mountain warfare.
We have Pinaka which was getting range extension together with guidance.

Brahmos, Prahar and Nirbhay can match it but again cost is the factor, could be an over kill. I think at higher altitude Pinaka's would be able to maintain if not 200km but atleast 140-160km range due to less drag during initial stages.

Stop confusing your own ignorance with Chinese propaganda.

It's too early to say. First, we need confirmation about the second Strike Corps for the mountains.

And then, as I pointed out, Rawat has shown interest in Kalyani's equivalent gun.
