It was said on your airdefense site. The other thing you need to acknowledge. Is that the IR pod drag limited the Rafale to M1.4 with AB.

Like other 4/4.5 gen. they quickly degrade to subsonic flight.

In Air to Air Rafale is fitted with an integrated optronic and IR system : OSF.
The pod is mainly used for Air to ground, where supersonic is useless.

And even so. The kinematic perfs of Meteor are more than enough to fill the gap of a lower speed.

That isn't an official statement, it's an unclarified, magazine article of a pilot. Still nothing official from dassault then?

Assuming straight and level flight. Both of these things can't be true. Which one is the lie?
Top speed clean M1.8. The drag of just the IR pod, limits to M1.4 in afterburner.
The drag of the drop tank and missiles, without afterburner, enables it to supercruise at M1.4

Also how long does it take to reach mach 1.4 and once it reaches that speed how long can it sustain that speed and at what degree because fuel is going to be an issue.

The IR pod is not made for supersonic. As all IR pod. Just have a look to the shape of the top.

Rafale with 2 x 2000L external tanks can reach mach 1,6 (with AB of course). So stop saying bullshit with a far smaller unique IR pod reducing speed to mach 1,4. You are pityful.

these trolls think that aircraft fly around supersonically most of the time. Instead of very seldomly. The fuel isn't an issue in this fantasy world of theirs.

they say they are stuck with the rafale until 2070, their next gen might be in 2050s if they are lucky. They have to make stuff up, or they would cry.

I hope that's not true. Otherwise they will have to reimplement the suicide watch over on airdefense. A few members may disappear. Like over the Swiss and Finnish sales, of the F-35. It took intensive counselling.

For those that don't want to understand. 5th gen is a system of systems and don't rely on a single platform. It is the total system that is 5th gen. France is years behind and can't help. They are even well behind Australia. The QUAD and a possible inclusion in AUKUS is where some tech could come from.

This is exactly the aim of the SCAF. Sadly we are blocked by the germans. France should go alone doing this.

If offered...... india should go for it without a thought, there are no plane out there which can beat it period. People who are against buying F 35 need to be lined up & shot dead for being traitors to the state.

NATO will move to 5th gen. Where everyone is interconnected. A bit of background. It was Australia that wanted the army, navy and airforce interconnected. We went looking to see what others were doing..There was nothing. We prodded our peers to go down this path.
