Mirage 2000H, MiG-29UPG, Jaguar DARIN III - Medium Multirole Aircraft of IAF

Yep, but I don't think it's a problem for an Indian made aircraft. New clearance can be given quite quickly since the trainer is still in development. But the same thing is possible as options also, do it doesn't make much of a difference. As long as Pilatus is out, HAL is assured of getting the last 38.
There will be atleast a dozen orders from Navy too hopefully.

Any comments from any quarters about the performance of asea in Jaguars..?
It's an attack aircraft and probably due to power and antenna size constraints ....primary importance in its AESA must have been given to enhancing SAR capability over other things..it's performance specially for SAR imagery is probably superior compare to other fighter jet in Indian arsenal.

IAF ordering 21 mig29! Why? They should have ordered the extra rafales, may not be able to get 21 rafale but if we managed to get 12 rafale for the price we paying for 21 migs then that will give tremendous boost
Who knows, the first encounter will be with J-20 soon!
No, rafales will not be used if war broke out soon

Yeas, then why we going for russian mig29. It does required refurbishment & upgradation. Russians too will take similar time frame i guess. More over mig29 importance will diminish within 10-12 years

India should understand Russian equipment will be ineffective against China whether you take MKI or S400, We have to go for Western or American equipment for IAF and IN. We can't take any bold action against China using Russian products Rafale, F35 or F18 will be a good deal even Tejas MK2 is fine but not Russian.

Another squadron can be raised and assigned to Jamnagar, or even moved to Adampur when necessary. Plus it costs less than $40M, including the upgrade.

Instead of Mig29 , if we have the finances i would rather want MoD to first finalize the MK1A deal asap.

Then if still finances are present, invest in AWACS and Tankers for EAC.

And still more larger numbers of GPS and Laser guided munitions in larger numbers.

SPICE is a costly option required for special circumstances.

Mk1A is already targeted for signature this year. This emergency deal for Migs and Sukhois was pending, likely pushed to next year and was brought forward instead.

AWACS and tankers are coming up as well.

A tanker RFP is set to be released this year. Future AWACS will come as part of DRDO's program. None of these are going to come in anytime soon. At best, a NATO country can provide us with tankers during war, like France, USN etc, and we are not likely to know about that when it happens. It will take the Americans only a few hours to drop tankers in our bases in case of war.

As for AWACS, we have lots and lots of them in the form of Phalcon, NETRA and P-8I, enough for any war on our borders. That's at least 14. And we are getting 1 more P-8I next month or so, followed by 3 more next year. And these come with upgrades. We are well set on this front, so relax. We have incredible superiority when it comes to force multipliers.

We have plenty of bombs as well. A lot of SPICE also came in through emergency purchases last year. There's also the SAAW.
