An Egyptian's point of view:
The Rafale has excelled at taking out defences and clearing any location of defensive assets in a way that no one could have imagined happening in Libya, if we are talking about Operation Odyssey Dawn.
And the strike on the Al-Wattia base and the stopping of the Turkish military operation had a big impact on the increase in sales.
The F-22 Raptor shutdown in Syria was a real eye-opener. The G9 manoeuvre and excellent pilot training led to the defeat of the most powerful fighter on the planet.
The Rafale will not stop here, this is only the beginning.
I can see that it will be widely spread and that it will be able to overtake the F16.
With the testimony of the commanders and pilots of the Egyptian Air Force, each manoeuvre has many advantages and excellent ways to face current and future threats.
Ignore the nonsenseWhat's that about the F-22 in Syria?
When F-22 Nearly Collided With Russian Su-25 #shortsDid someone bring up F-22 in Syria..?
F-22 stealth jets got 587 aircraft to back off in their ‘combat surge’ over Syria
U.S. Air Force F-22s recently completed their first “combat surge” in operations over Syria, and in doing so deterred almost 600 Syria, Iranian and Russian combat aircraft in the crowded skies there, the Pentagon said.
Raptor pilots from the 94th Fighter Squadron out of Joint Base Langley-Eustis completed 590 individual flights, totaling 4,600 flight hours, with 4,250 pounds of ordnance dropped in their deployment to the region in the “first-ever F-22 Raptor combat surge.”
The Pentagon said the F-22s, assigned to the 380th Expeditionary Fighter Wing at Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates, “deterred” 587 enemy aircraft in the process, suggesting the jet commands some respect against older, Russian-made models often in operation by Russian and Syrian forces. This surge saw F-22 operations maximized over a three-day period.
Unlike any other battle space today, U.S. forces on the ground in Syria have come under threat from enemy airpower.
F-22s on this deployment escorted Navy F/A-18s as part of their mission. In June 2017, Lt. Cmdr. Mike “MOB” Tremel, a Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet pilot, scored the U.S.’s first air-to-air kill in years after downing a Syrian Su-22 that threatened US forces in the country.
The stealth fighter pilots defended U.S. forces against enemy bomber aircraft and also backed up U.S., U.K., and French forces when they struck Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime in the country’s west in response to chemical weapons attacks.
The F-22s flew "deep into Syrian territory, facing both enemy fighters and surface-to-air missile systems," the Pentagon said.
While no US or allied aircraft went down, photos from the most recent U.S. attack on Syria’s government show the country’s air defenses firing blindly into the night sky as the F-22s worked overhead.
The F-22 has encountered enemy fighter jets above Syria before, but the Pentagon has only reported relatively safe interactions and intercepts.

If I'm not mistaken it's only after their deployment in Syria "where the Raptors prevented or was it forced 587 aircrafts to back off " or whatever tall stories give you orgasms in the rear , that the USAF decided to fit them with external pylons .

And now the Lightnings have external pylons too .![]()
I really don't know, I think it's a confusion with what happened in Dubai, which made for a nice video, but I'm not sure and I didn't want to alter the testimony. What's that about the F-22 in Syria?
In term of Payload, Su30 is equal. Once you have MKI, you don't need F15.F-15 has three issues that might make it lose. First is lack of supercruise. The other is unit and life cycle cost. The third is RCS.
It's EW and avionics are amazing, it's payload capacity is really required against adversaries like the Chinese who will have numerical superiority. I hope there is some side g2g deal for f-15's but it's not fit for the MMRCA. Atleast 54-72 f-15EX are required.
1 squadron for Pakistan, three squadrons for China
Why would you need F15 for Pak front? mere tejas would go past entire pak in 10 mins probably, look at that country's shape.
The only reason I stated the f15 for mrfa is to pitch against the chinese as a different option to su-30 and long range standoff weapon. You always need multiple options under your wing. Both us & them know su-30 well, f15 would have been a different challenge.
What has happened is neither the mrfa is progressing nor govt buying the 12 su-30 to fill up the existing gap. Somehow the entire procurement has stalled most likely because IAF & govt may be directly fighting & we got election in about 18-20 months. What is happening is IAF upgrading existing heavy jets in batches perhaps. Initially adding the weapons, then avionics ew sort of MLU, later uttam in 5-6 years time?
We got like 153 airports available from which our 300 good quality planes can operate. That is a shortage.
Why not exchange 2 squads of Su 30 mki for 2 squads of F15 from Israel/ Japan?
My idea was based on from the time of Tu-160 talk. There were 6 of those being bought rumours spread by some media. So what I suggested is instead of 6 tu160 + 12 additional su-30, why not go for 2 sqn for F15ex with murican weapons package, something that could be a force multiplier to our existing capability. Not possible because we have to make entire ecosystem for the F15..

Then I saw Indonesia price for those, and saudi bird crashing, and had doubt on weapon package being offered. Could have half of MRFA for that pricing for which we are already building infra & ecosystem.
Hell wasn't that supposed to come in 2022 ? What was the in house prediction like ?Lowest hanging fruit is 36 additional Rafales.
If we are NOT going in for that, we can forget about Tu 160 / F 15.
Lets see what the navy jet deal be like. My guess is nothing will move till at least the election. (unless hands are forced)Lowest hanging fruit is 36 additional Rafales.
