a) I really do not know what to make of this. How is USA cancer? What did USA do to India? It is Nehru who has definitely tilted towards USSR despite saying he is non-aligned. Anyway - that is a separate matter.
b) Despite being beaten black & blue in 1962, I see that many Indians have some sort of affinity to Chinese. Indians desperately want to believe that Chinese are benevolent (because they are socialists / communists). For ex: please read article by Ashutosh [former AAP party prominent member] writes in NDTV.com that China is doing all these latest antics to bring India to negotiation table. Read the commentary of Mr. Pravin Shawney in youtube, his initial videos are - China is doing all this, because India did not follow the wuhan guidance in spirit.
c) I see many Indians have natural aversion to USA, but at the first available oppurtunity apply for USA visa [this applies to all immigrants]. I am a naturalized US citizen.....and I see so many of immediate friends [from India] who are socialists / communists but came to USA to enjoy the economic benefits that capitalism offers.....but despite staying in USA for 20+ years are still socialist / communist. They vote for democrats, because democrats does "something" for them. If one believes in socialism / communism, why come to USA in the first place? They could have gone to Cuba etc? I see this behaviour in many Indian-Americans as well as other immigrants (in general) from other countries. All of them do not believe in capitalism, but never want to get out of USA. Much of what Trump says about immigration (immigrants) is Truth.
d) There is no way India will match the manufacturing abilities of China. The labour laws of India are so cumbersome. For ex: In Andhra Pradesh, the incumbent CM has put a rule saying that 80% of all labour in private sector must be "sons / daughters of soil". What if the "sons / daughters of soil" do not have necessary skills? Then the industrialist have to train them and employ them. What if those "sons / daughters of soil" do not work hard? no answers........which industrialist will invest in such environment? Many other states have cumbersome laws too. I know that UP & MP has removed all labour laws for 3 years.....but wait for a different party to win elections next time, everyone of those labour laws will be bought back.
e) For the next few months / years, there will be big anguish [if there is a war], then it is going to be back to square one. HAL will still be lead integrator or whatever and will be extremely inefficient.
f) If India does not align with USA [since USA is cancer], which other country will it work with? France? UK? Japan? You think any of these countries have the economy to fight China?
g) I am very very very dis-appointed that Modi said that China is not in India's land. If so, then what is all this fight for? I had hopes on Modi.....at least he should have the courage to accept. I had such a big hopes on Modi.
h) I do not believe India will match China only via "indigenization". This is a dream being sold for the past 24 years.....for ex: LCA is so cheap, development costs are a fraction of what they cost in developed countries etc etc......we can break-even very fast etc etc.....this is what I read in 1993 or so.....

PS: sorry for deviating from the topic. I know this post does not add any value to this thread, but could not resist.
Rightly said, we have examples of SKorea, japan, NATO countries, singapore etc, the democratic countries who benefits from US alliance. Its high time to make alliance with USA and enjoy the security provided by US equipments.
Its more than enough for china and Pakistan.

Worst in what sense please explain ?
Thats why we are crying now, no credibly assets to challenge chinese now. The superiority of MKI is bursted last year, dont bring 24 jet vs story or low altitude story.

It has maintainence issues just like mig 29 . Mig 29 engines used to give out smoke but mig 35 is being advertised as having smokeless engines. But radar avionics etc will not match western technology.

Obviously not. It's already inferior to what China is operating right now. And Pakistan will also obviously buy superior jets in the future.

The Russians are looking for a bakra.
how did you come to the conclusion that it's inferior ? Chinese for all the BS are still importing Russian stuff, they are nowhere close to russians. They are relying on them from engine to avionics even today. Pakistan will only import Chinese stuff in future due to money constraint.... So how does we loose any edge ?

Incorrect. Our planes are better than theirs. And we are better trained and have better infrastructure. We have better logistics as well. The only thing we lack is a modern BVR weapon due to the delay in developing our own in time or choosing a foreign one. And this is a problem only for a year or two.

The superiority of MKI was not even challenged by the entire PAF.

Rafales are getting 3d thrust vectoring, new stealth coating and superior EW suite in F4 upgrades. It nullifies any and all advantages that other contenders has over it. IMO it is rafale all the way if MMRCA 2.0 deal realised.

No the Rafale doesn't need 3D vectoring, it gets the same manoeuvrability thanks to its canards , it won't change its coating either, instead it will use the PEA DEDIRA which reduces its signature by other means. It will also have a very high connectivity that will then allow it to use multistatic radar that can detect aircraft with passive stealth (like the F22 and F35) as if they were not stealthy.

He is just unreliable from what ever I read from him. The last thing we are going to buy in MMRCA is Russian hardware. We might even have second thoughts for murican systems but Russian systems are going to be ignored from a mile away. The only real Russian system we might buy are su57 and armata series. That's also big question considering how badly they have been performing...

@randomradio

Should we still go for MMRCA 2.0

OR We will just buy 36 more Rafales and 100 more Su 30

We cannot afford to Waste Time

We need more planes to tackle China

We most definitely need 200 Rafales along with 200 MWF. As technology matures, older tech will be needed in large numbers to compensate. We need the technology infusion. So MMRCA is critical for our future. 36 is just a silver bullet force, like our small number of M2000s.

MKI is passe. It's fine right now, but it needs upgrades. And you can bet the Chinese will also modernise very quickly. We have already crossed the upper limit of our Flanker numbers, anymore is just a waste of time and money. Hell, if we get more Rafales and MWF, we can actually send 1/3rd of the MKI fleet into storage. We have a surplus of 50+ jets. The cost of operating so many isn't worth it.

Our Su 30s have both thrust vectoring and canards. 3d vectoring will improve its manoeuvrability by leaps and bounds.

And AFAIK DEDIRA won't be available before 2030.

The Flankers are all superior designs by default. And the Chinese have already introduced indigenous engines into their Flankers.

How many Migs have the Russians bought in the last 10 years?

We will lose our edge because we can induct the Migs in numbers only 7-10 years later, when it is already old by today's standards even in China.

Dude, stop underestimating China. Only those who are completely ignorant do it.

Our FCS are better, now that we have already met your SU 30 MKI during Garuda exercises, we no longer fear them even in dogfight.

DEDIRA is already available on F3 R. Normally we would have had to replace the SPECTRA antennas with GaN antennas for this, but we found a cheaper way to increase the processing speed, which postponed the antenna change to a time when GaN will be cheaper (F4).

We neither have the financials for MMRCA Or 100 Su30. Indigenous options are the only ones financially possible.

And no, we don't need 1500 aircrafts to counter 1500 aircrafts.

Sorry but I would take that with a pinch of salt.

That's great.
