Off-Topic Chit-Chat

@Itachi

Hand on heart ask yourself, have you ever in your life seen a more polarized and vitiated pan India social, communal and regional atmosphere as there exists in India among Indians for the past 5+ years.

It's clear who has whipped what up in India. To an extent that today you have a fractured society.

These scars will take a long time to heal. Before both sides actually start talking to each other as Indians again, and not the "other"

If at all.

And am sure you realise what clearly needs to change if we are ever to have a chance of that happening.

Simply put, there is an effort underway to steal India from Indians, and replace it with a mutated parody of all that has meant to be Indian for over 5000 years.

Cheers, Doc

Thank you. Very useful. Picture given misleading title to spread hatred.

@Itachi you can use this as a standard of quality of the person who has been trying to provoke you on south north grounds. Understand the agenda. Help me defeat it.

This is the second fake narrative picture only today. The first was about the DMIC that you posted.

Who do you think is behind this?

Do you think there is a version of this picture that says dalit and south indian worshipping Modi ;)

Hey doc, Hope everything's good. (sandy_3126 here).

I honestly feel the reason for such massive polarization is the (us styled) 24hr news cycle and inability of the society to cope up Whatsup culture.

The evolution of Czar Modi.

From his early days bending low in elaborate pranams to older senior people. Even Muslim freedom fighters.

To today when older senior folk fold hands and bow eyes downward in front of him.

Not just older senior folk. But the President and Vice President of India. The Supreme Commander of our armed forces.

One by one, every institution of India will be subverted in the classic slow boil. Before Indians realize what has happened.

Lessons from buddy Xi next door?

Cheers, Doc

Says the guy voting for the Gandhis, a family that treated the whole country, and everyone and everything in it as their personal property. Do you have no sense of shame or irony, Doc?

Hi Sandy.

What you say has definitely contributed. But as in the case of Trump and his legion at your end of the pond, who do you think has been responsible for that here?

Modi and his supporters can hardly complain when it was their phenomenally adroitly crafted and run media campaign that carried him to power in the first place. A chapter in its own right in any Ivy league media and business management school text.

No one plays the MSM and social media better than the saffron side. The Congress are so very old school when it comes to this new age politics.

I frankly still do not see the Congress anywhere close to Modi in media savviness and management.

The Congress is the grand old party of India. A grass roots party.

It will build its campaign on and from the soil. And we are already seeing the green shoots of that.

Cheers, Doc

What I do have is human emotion and sympathy for a family who has put itself in the line of fire more than once for the country.

Rahul stopped talking about MRIs and inter-connected power grids, and yesterday opened his heart in Singapore.

Reminiscing about he and his sister losing their dad. And their grandmom before him.

Did Sonia ji take the easy way out and return to her Roman Catholic roots in Italy? Ive seen more than one woman do the same after their husband goes early. Life moves on. Women remarry. Old family ties to the husband's side either fade or are cut.

Not here. She stoically stayed on. The yound widow, with her baby orphans.

Why?

Because the country was in shock. We were on dangerous ground those days. And the country asked this of her, as they had asked it of Rajiv when Indira was gunned down.

Rahul says he was angry for a long time. But that he now forgives the killers of his dad. That he felt sympathy for Prabhakaran and his wife and orphaned kids when he say Prabhakaran's near headless corpse being displayed crudely on TV.

We have in India today what the British tried and failed centuries ago with their Magna Carta.

Cheers, Doc

Modi commands respect because he is the most popular elected leader of India since Independence. (more than Nehru) The current president owns his position to Modi. Same with VP.

The PM is the guy who actually runs the Nation. The Prez and VP are just put to give the illusion of checks and balance.

There was a video where even advani bowned to Modi and modi just ignored him and walked past (I wonder why). That is cause Modi is now PM and Advani is now just an MP. (or is he ?)

May be Modi should learn a lesson or two from Sonia Gandhi about giving respect!!

And then you claim you're not a family loyalist. This reads like pure party propaganda, what a bunch of nonsense. They put themselves on the line in their quest, hunger and greed for power; and more often than not they became victims of their own stupidities/evil misdeeds. Indira got what was coming to her for playing dirty politics with the Sikhs, and Rajeev Gandhi was a poor, naive fool who lacked the smarts to get mixed up in something as complicated in Sri Lanka - and it ended up killing him.

Next, your point about Sonia "Ji" is frankly nauseating. She stayed on because she literally got the keys to a whole damn country, through no merit, achievement or qualification of her own; other than the simple fact that Rajeev Gandhi took a fancy to her. What the hell was waiting for her in Italy? Here in India they placed her on a damn pedestal and let her run the whole damn country when she had no business doing so - and you manage to paint it as some great sacrifice/act of charity towards India.

This is either the height of trolling or height of delusion.

On my side of the Pond.

It's difficult to decipher for me so this is just my take:

1> Democrats lost: the plot when instead of energizing the bernie camp by trying to get capable people like Bernie or Elizabeth Warren who could energize the democrat voters they went with Hillary who was seen as an establishment candidate. Akin to BJP trying to run 2014 with Advani and gang.

2>Republicans Lost: their party to the growing force of tea party enthusiast who hated establishment republican for not being not being ultra right. They did not want Diet Racism, or Homophobia-lite. they wanted the full bodied version. And because they neither gave in nor had the foresight to inculcate any leadership throughout Obama's term, there centuries old party got hijacked by Trump who had no conviction but just reflected vileness of all kinds, so every closet homophobic, every slight racist, every chauvinist after two drinks, every domestic zenophobe now saw a slight reflection of him/herself in the orange monkey.

3> Swing vote : Minorities did not care enough, Bernie or bust hated Hillary, people were a bit disillusioned by lack lustre obama's second term, and minorities were "meh" about it.

I truly believe if you are a minority (which women are politically) you need some one remarkable to break the glass ceiling. At the end of the day Hillary was just not remarkable. She never created a sense of hope even for democrat women demographic, which say an Oprah or a Michelle Obama would. She was the Democratic Advani, not the ones of the 90 but the advani of 2009.

Congress lost it's plot, its natural progression should have been its collapse after kesari, and then its revival through non dynastic mechanisms, but unfortunately it turned into a party of rabid yesmen and sycophants, which was sad to see. So called political stalwarts wagging thier tails infront of a effing nincompoop, and then expecting respect from the electorate. India is going through Americanization whether planned or unplanned, it's not far off that there would be town-hall faceoff between the candidates, and in such situations Modi will eat RG alive any day anytime.

Does this not read like something straight out of the Sangh playbook?

I'm waiting for you to now predictably go further back and say Rajiv is not a Hindu-Parsi child but in reality a Hindu-Muslim child.

After which we will hear lurid tales of Indira's (and now Priyanka's) healthy sexual appetites. As if that were some sort of crime.

Thank all our lucky stars neither look/ed like Mayavati ji.

Cheers, Doc

Guys why are you legitimizing such low quality trash from a person who deserves zero intellectual respect. The picture he has posted is from an angle where you can not see the object the Prez and VP are doing pranam to. But you can still tell it is something they are all there for.

The guy is a troll and attention seeker with ZERO useful contribution other than incessant whining and crappy spiels full of repetition and victimhood matam. Just make fun of him and move on. Dont engage.

It reads like something out of the memoirs of a personal scribe or biographer of the Gandhis - and you repeatedly write shit like this, I just haven't figured out whether it's because that's what you believe or you're just trying to screw with us.

And why would I say that? As far as I am aware, Feroze Gandhi was a Parsi - so Rajeev Gandhi was a Hindu-Parsi.
