Pakistan AirForce : Updates & Discussions

Any official spec of JF 17 block 3 ?
Newer Hybrid RAM/SCRAM/TURBOFAN JET engine with 3d vector thrusting and trapezoidal nozzle, stealthier airframe, advance electronic warfare suite comparable to spectra 4.2, ROFAR Radar, Laser and other Direct energy weapons, Hypersonic super cruise, capability to carry ICBM with 10 MIRV nuclear BUMS. Making it a first 7th or 8th generation fighter.. 😊😊

Is it powered by jinn technology.

On a serious note they don't have money to buy J-10s unless until China decides to give it free to put IAF in trouble during 2 front war.

They however do plan to buy and upgrade existing JF-17s to block 3 which will have air cooled AESA (Don't know how effective it will be as we never heard of air cooled Radar), New BVR PL15 missiles again don't know how effective these are, use of composite material, irst, etc.

On paper it is comparable to LCA mk1a but reality could be like you buying Original Apple Phone and someone just to show off buying cheap fake look alike Chinese Fake. Both looking same but performance wise original one will be a light year ahead... 😊

They never had money to buy FC1 either or HQ9 or MBT 2000 or VT4.
Actually they never had money to buy anything, but still used to get everything earlier from USA and Now from China.
Money is not a problem for China either, specially when it comes to countering India.

The 13 F16ADF fighters purchased from Jordan were 3rd hand. They were purchased by Jordan from an European country as 2nd hand aircrafts. Jordan used them and then passed on to Pakistan. These 13 F16ADF have not received life extension kits. So their OEM flight hours are all but over by now.

Next the 44 AM/BM versions which underwent the MLU, a big thing many people miss is that the engines then we're refurbished. They were not new engines. So those 44 F16AM/BM may have some hours left in their airframes but their engines. Again a big problem.

Coming to remaining 17 Block 52. They too will need a MLU in coming years. But they can continue their service even with refurbishment for upto 2040.

That's 74 aircrafts.

Thanks for the information. The idea behind posting that video was to highlight the fact that barring discuss the state of the F-16s he did everything especially discuss alternative scenarios. And what brilliant alternatives he discussed ?!

Now this is supposed to be one of the more respectable amateur defence channels coming from Paxtan as per many SM defence afcionados & defence content makers from India . Yet look at the level of his knowledge !

The APKWS for fighters was created to shoot down CMs, not drones. Although it can stop drones, the drones can be killed using DEW, never mind the fact that drones still need to be killed using regular AAMs since they are going to come in as part of a strike package escorted by fighter jets, not standalone. The F-16s can't get caught chasing drones amongst enemy fighters. Large drones can also carry AAMs of their own, making it extremely risky for a fighter to move in close enough to use the very short range APKWS. For CMD, you need your jet to carry a lot of munitions, which will allow you to shoot down more of them in a single sortie. So that's its recently tested purpose.

The APKWS can be used from helicopters against some types of drones, but still is constrained by speed. Although it's actually used as a PGM against ground targets.

As for PAF's F-16s, they stopped being a real threat to the IAF 5 years ago, when our MKI numbers became a bit too much for them to handle. While upgrading these jets is important, Pak cannot afford it, and the US won't sell it. And, unfortunately for them, the J-10C is not an answer either. It's basically no different than the upgraded F-16, and they need to start from scratch and will take as long as 6 years at the minimum to be fully qualified in the PAF, compared to just 2 years for the F-16V. Sweden won't sell them the Gripen E. So, their only choice is to invest in the next generation, which is what they are doing with Project Azm. The upcoming JF-17s actually removes the need for a new 4th gen jet anyway.

They need 2 squadrons of next gen jets to create sufficient conventional deterrence against India. And they are not gonna get it until we are into the 2030s, only as long as they import it. Pretty much in time to replace the older versions of the F-16s, alongside our own Mig-29UPGs.

Kiyoon?
Phatt gaee? 😅😅😅

To be honest we too are skeptical as the minister who issued the statement isn't too reliable. But 23rd March isn't too far, so let's see.
Maamu , the J-10C you'd recieve isn't what the Chinese operate. How diluted would the specs be is something you'd get to see on 23 rd Mar 2022 .

Now we might be able to get some info on its performance and RCS finally. Just need the tejas mk 1a to come online. It's clear the blunder blk 3 has failed and is taking too much time.

We should go for a Repeat order of F 3 RAFALE instead of waiting for F 4 and MMRCA 2.0
