We've had this conversation a few months ago either on this very thread or some other . The kilos being offered were inspected by Indonesia some time back & were reportedly in a pathetic shape. That prompted them to approach DSME . You know the rest.

The objective behind posting those tweets I did was to highlight tweets no 4 & 6 that is to say the information about the Scorpene leaks .

Incidentally S Jha is going live with his IAH at 8:30 tonight in case you're interested . The last one was kept Pvt for his only fans base .
Will try to join in. Will try to ask about P75I, Minesweepers and MMRCA/MRCBF 😅

My favorite delusion is award 6 Baracudda P75i to L&T, get full tot& IPR rights for Scorpene, upgrade with AIP and build with full capacity of mazagon dock ie 11 subs.

End the short fall of Subs, once for all.

... and to manufacture some Kalvaris for export too, to Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Kangooland... err, no, not Australia :ROFLMAO:

The Scorpenes we manufacture today based on the ToT we've already received would be obsolete going ahead in the 2030's . Probably that's the reason the IN isn't going ahead with expanding the fleet by building 3 more Scorpenes . If we do it today it'd only be to add on numbers & then go in for another expensive MLU in the 2030s .

Naval Group has come up with an advanced Scorpene offer though what exactly it entails is unknown. The IN hasn't shown much interest in it for good reason as any procurement of it would have to come under a brand new category & not part of the Project 75 Scorpene class.

In it's wisdom the IN has chosen to go ahead with it's tech specs for what the Project 75 (I) & it seems the indigenous conventional submarine development & mfg program .

We need a G2G deal on subs. We need to sign a deal today and start building them, so by 2028s we start getting them.

Navy should get sensible, sit down with MDL+LnT+DRDO+NG and find a solution for P75I.

AIP, Torpedoes, SLCMs,etc everything is under indigenous development. These things need a push so that in next 3-4 years AIP is ready for production and by 2027-28 the weapons.

South Korea is unreliable as far as submarines go, Japan and Sweden don't give us Bhav, Germans are sick with our procedures, Spanish and Russians are technically incapable.

Get France on P75I and MMRCA 2.0 and A330 MMRT conversions along with engines for AMCA.

Ah, I realise I am ranting....

877 EKMs are 1970s tech.

Indian Navy issued a RFI to bring back an upgraded Kilo just 2 days back.

A Scorpene over Kilo is like a Mirage 2000 over Mig21.

The Mirage 2000 is still much more relevant than Mig21 today and in immediate near future. And a new built Mirage 2000 can be upgraded to be remain relevant for years.

India needs to replace 4 German subs + 10 Russian kilos..
Exports impossible for atleast a decade and half.
Technically we can except we don't have an indigenous design . The one for the Scorpene has IPR vested with NG . We can't move without their concurrence . In terms of capacity MDL claims they can as of date build 5 submarines simultaneously thought I can say they definitely do have the capacity to build 3 simultaneously . Then there's the L& T lines as well .

Whenever an indigenous design manifests itself assuming we go in for 6+6 program , we can split the initial lot of the first 6 between MDL & L&T for 3 each .

We need to mass produce atleast 1 diesel submarine, whatever it is , sooner.
To fill up the numbers.

Indigenous submarine will definitely take longer..

I'm giving you the IN's perspective . It's something I understand & not totally disagree with That we're doing it for the EKM doesn't mean it's the SOP. We don't have a choice in the matter .

Was in Russia for overhaul and upgrade.

Now it's in Norway (I don't know how). The tender called for transportation from Norway to India.

Regarding additional Scorpene now, we are a tad too late now imo.

Maybe just 3 more ships, but thats it.

We should be doing everything to seal P75I and MMRCA 2 this year. If it doesn't happen, then it will happen in 2025.

Well that's your standard overhaul . It must have been transported to Norway as Russia couldn't spare it's barges perhaps to tow it to India . Hence we may have somehow got it to Norway & it's awaiting it's journey to India .

As to why have we overhauled it , we don't have a choice in this matter . The whole submarine program has been badly handled & looks like it's jinxed especially the Project -75 (I) .
