NNice .... still I'm sure experts can weight in that this frame isn't up to Indian standards yet!! - as one can see that the test pilots are not using the HMS. This shouldn't come as a surprise as it was mentioned that the first few frames will be for testing Indian specific systems.

Man a lot of interesting news since yesterday, still going through all the infos on the SC documents, checking the pics of the he first IAF Rafale, which already shows some interesting things and Eric Trappier also dropped another interview to Indian media.
As expected, no IRST
Not as expected, no DDM NG. Not sure what the modifications in front of the EW pod is. Has someone any info's on that?
The DDM-NG is Fish-eye.
But the ballast remained "prismatic" like the old DDM. Frankly, for a ballast, why change its shape?
It seems to me that the OSF is also a ballast in these pictures.
For the moment the plane is not delivered, it does not need all its real equipment to start its tests.
FSO and DDM will be integrated at the production line isn't it? And Qatari as well as Egyptian had DDM-NG as well as FSO too:

- Rafale deal because China bought S400 and around 400 x 4th / 5th gen fighters (completely bogus excuse!)
- approval for the deal started only a month after it was announced in Paris (very little info on approvals prior to it)
- MMRCA cancellation process started in March 2015 (first time this was stated, while government officials and Eric Trappier stated in March and even till 1 day ahead of the announcement, that MMRCA negotiations are on)

Its not China alone. Please include F-16s and JF-17s which Pakistan added during this time. The total is approx 400 aircraft.
This interview has created quite a flutter in India and Pappu is now in real problem.
Now Pappu is claiming Trappier's interview was dictated. Congress has forgotten the country's motto. Satyameva Jayate.
it was a simple straight forward thing- 5 planes evaluated, one plane selected, deal finalized, sign it and get the *censored*ing jets. But no- Modi will screw with the deal, change terms, make sure that ambanis will get a few billion, inflate prices by 40% and end result- India would have had one squadron fly away by now and local consutruction would have started. Instead we pay more, only one plane built no local construction yet. And while modi robs the country blind bhkt will wate time talking about pappu. gau etc.

work share was completed. And price negotiations 'complted' is 40% more than what was proposed before. 'better' deal is less work done in India than before. And of course, Ambani who had not even an empty plot gets to 'build' rafale.
the whole controversy is because ambani and modi tried to steal public money. If delhi electricity scam is any indication the man will rob money the moment everything is finalized.
Yesterday' s interview of Trappier clearly says that you have to compare Fly Away Costs in both the Deals
Fly Away cost in the Second deal is 9 percent cheaper
The Transfer of Technology is much better
In the Second deal
DRDO is the prime beneficiary in the Technology offsets
yeah...after giving up large tech gains for lower numbers. Like/Like it's now 40% higher.
