Does this include the replacement of the engine with the Desi alternative that was discussed few months back?

Upgraded T 72 with TIFCS, ERA MK 2 , new engine, ammo and gun will be superior to VT-4 . Indian T 72, upgrade look even better than russian T 72B3 minus ammo and gun which need an upgrade.
LOL indigenous barrel is not superior to anything russian. Why don't you provide source for your claim.
Existing T 90 gun autoloader can achieve 600mm+ penetration. Svinets 2 can achieve 600mm+ penetration from current gun without changing autoloader while with new autoloader it can hit 700mm easily. if army RFI to be believe you would need a DU round and new autoloader to achieve anything greater than 700mm penetration. but russian won't sell Svinets 1 so you have to develop it on your own.
This photo was said as aftermath of an exercise (must be Russia) where a BMP-II mistakenly fired Konkurs ATGM against a T-90A. The crew survived however. But you can see the condition of the tank. The Indian T-72 barrel has an EFC of 1700 versus the Russian supplied barrel with EFC of 250.

Nope. Our gun, the 2A46M, can only manage 450-500mm. With a new shell, they are trying to achieve about 550mm.
What you are referring to is the latest 2A46M-5, which is only present on the T-90MS and the T-90M.
Any tank will become like that if you hit it from the side.

2A46M can achieve 600m+ penetration . mango M APFSDS has certified penetration of 560mm LOS at 2km according to manufacturer itself. Svinets 2 can be fired using 2A46M using upgraded loader & it has 600m+ pen.
T 90A provide 715-725mm protection against KE and 1100 against CE but from front only.
from the angle it was hit this was expected, still the crew survived though.
You will have to find it yourself. Google 2A46 Maple, it's OFB's gun with thier own barrel made using their own production techniques.

No clue what you want me to see, but the gun we have on the T-90 is the 2A46M. Only 2A46M-2 was upgraded to handle long rods. The biggest round we can use is the Mango. For Lekalo and Svinets, we need the new 2A46M-5.
Ha ha! I will tell you there is no such barrel superior to russian one either.
2A46M gun on our T 90 can fire svinets 2 ( the round on the above pic is svinets 2 ). You don't need a new gun , just need to upgrade autoloader. It's written on it. DOP will be low though.
Mango M/ lekalo are same.
