thats why we need keep our options open and move accordingly , but we shouldnt be seen as part of one camp or another then that will make that task hard. Even russians would be aware of it, they will side with china against west but against India neutrality is their best choice not just due to relations with India but for geopolitical reasons as well. A strong uncontrolled china is not going to be helpful to russia just like a strong India is of no use to west as it will be hard to dictate terms.

The Americans (and the Russians) give the maximum range of the missile if it is launched on a purely ballistic trajectory. The PAC-2 GEM-T/C/+ is given for 160km, but its range on a manoeuvring target is more in the order of 60/80 km. On a non-manoeuvring target, you can hit around 120 km.
In contrast, the Europeans give the range of their missiles in relation to a typical flight profile.
For example, for air-to-air missiles, the long limit displayed to the pilot of an F-16 for his AIM-120 is the 'Ballistic Rmax', which corresponds to this famous aeroballistic range. The maximum range of a PAC-2 GEM-T is 240km. Against a large lumbering aircraft that might well be achievable. Either that or someone hacked Russian air defences.
US love to understate their missile ranges by a lot and really love the 160km number. The aim-120d disclose max range is 160km however in 2021 it broke the Pheonix missile's long range shot of 126 miles giving the Aim-120D 127-135 miles or more. The Aim-120D3 supposedly has more range.
