Although I think it's a bluff, they can still fight below the nuclear threshold.
The French have more than enough offensive troops to retake significant amounts of territories. But they can stick to defending Kiev or Odessa too.
Anyway, it seems to be political messaging at this point. There's nothing France can do without German and Polish support for a land corridor, and Turkish support for a sea corridor. Even they will become parties to the war after all.

They could also be used for operating IED robots to eliminate mines. There's a lot of non-frontline activities which they could be utilised in.
Footage of a Russian Iskander tactical missile striking a Ukrainian missile, presumably a Patriot air defense system, near Pokrovsk. Initially it was reported that the strike was carried out on the Ukrainian S-300PS air defense system, but experts, including Ukrainian ones, reported that as a result of the analysis, the affected object can be identified as MIM-104 Patriot. The conclusions are reportedly based on the door shape of MAN KAT1 8x8 trucks, which are used as chassis for German Patriot air defense missile launchers. Retractable supports characteristic of the Patriot air defense system were also seen on the wreckage. It is still impossible to say for sure what was hit, but three vehicles were destroyed on the march, presumably two air defense missile launchers and a radar for illuminating and targeting missiles.
They were Patriot launchers. The M983s and MAN HX1 used for towing Patriot launchers are general purpose vehicles used for towing all menner of things. It's far more likely that 4 trucks being used for logistics were parked that close together than 4 high value SAM launchers. There is no reason to have 4 SAM launchers that close together, it just wouldn't happen.
