Ukraine - Russia Conflict

Russia-China trade is around $150B. It can't be replaced.

Not really. Russian troops are not necessary for that. Pretty much all of Russia's objectives can be achieved via binding agreements on paper. Like neutrality, demilitarisation etc.

Again, that's irrelevant. If someone wants to set up a car production factory in Russia to compensate for the loss of imports, they will do it.
For Russia it can't, for China it can. China is a ten times larger market than Russia is by population and eleven times bigger by GDP. That's about 2x larger than the difference between UK and EU or UK and US to put things in perspective.

There is no difference between Chinese media and western media, it is just that people are so brainwashed that they think western news agencies are not propaganda agents.

Reuters photographed Biden's paper with agreed questions from journalists and his answers:

They're not agreed questions, it's a prompt sheet. :ROFLMAO:

You think Xi Jinping would get hounded for years by the Chinese state media asking him to resign for breaking lockdown restrictions? :ROFLMAO:

Ruins of the elite 4th Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, based in Gostomel, Kiev region, after meeting with the landing force of the Russian Armed Forces:

Denazification in Donbass is in full swing:

Denazification of Belgorod in full swing.

Beginning of the end of the pre eminent status of the USD as the international reserve currency of the world.

Of course as the content creator points out it'd take time, but the seeds are sown.

I hope you realise the significance of this move Paddy. This means that all associated currencies like the Euro, Pound Sterling etc are screwed too & what's more London as an international financial center is soon going to be a thing of the past .

Trust an Irishman in the White House to unleash mayhem in his own world. Project Irishification of the West is proceeding as per plan & enjoying unprecedented success.

Tiocfaidh ár lá !!

Indeed how prescient were the Irish freedom fighters.

All Russian troops east of Kiev are now cut off from their rear lines. The Russians have blown up the bridges over the northern river, where Chernihiv is. Clearly they are armouring the north bank and therefore cannot attack (as they have destroyed the bridges themselves). The encirclement of the city is very relative (basically the Russians pass by a single bridge which is under fire).

It seems that all the advanced Russians further than Soumy are going to have problems as they now have only one supply line not too exposed (along the railway line, in the north) as the southern road is under fire and Soumi is disencircled. The position of the Russians near Kiev is getting really super shitty.

You can take it from any end, it's not necessarily a UKR victory but it is a Russian defeat.

Now the real question is: the southern front! Are the Russians pulling back units to deploy them in the south as a shock force to break the front, or are they pulling back units that are totally broken down and unable to act without a massive complement? And what do they leave? Solid elements or figuration?

If we look at a "movement through the interior lines", can the UKR deploy a much more massive force to the south and especially cover and supply it?

The Russian view of the situation (I chose a moderate Russian)

For him, the withdrawal of troops is already in place and there have been troop movements from the north and south of Ukraine converging on the Donbass where there are still 50-70,000 Ukrainian forces that they cannot leave behind.

He does not particularly trust the word of the Ukrainian government on their (future) declaration of neutrality as they have not really implemented the Minsk agreements.

As for the status of the separatist territories and Crimea, he says that nothing has changed and nothing will change as long as the Ukrainian government remains in power and that the only way to change the situation is to force them to do so (or to replace the current government by force, not sure about the translation on this one).

For him the war will last several more months followed by an even longer period of mop-up/anti-guerrilla operations in the occupied territories (Donbass and maybe Mariupol?). He sees no immediate diplomatic solution.

On the other hand, from what he has seen on his side, the announcement of the withdrawal/redeployment of Russian forces attacking Kiev has been met with anger in Russian military circles in view of the videos of executions of Russian POWs by Ukrainians, while others are waiting to see how things will develop. He also cites the example of Syria where Russia declared its disengagement in 2016 but continued operations for several more years (albeit at a more limited level) and they are still there.

US Dy NSA Daleep Singh already in Delhi for a 2 day visit to list out the consequences of India abstaining apparently. Desiboy here served a long tenure in the US treasury dpt & is allegedly the architect of the US sanctions policy on Russia.

Sergei Lavrov arrives tomm for a 2 day visit.

Almost as an afterthought HT adds UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss would be in town too for a 2 day trip for comic relief perhaps or if the Indian officials are tired & frustrated balancing the heavy weights & Truss shoots off her mouth , those Indian officials would gladly unload themselves & their frustrations on her making her their punching bag.

'Stability of international order in question,' says PM Modi on Ukraine war

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said regional cooperation - specifically among south and south-east Asian countries - had become a priority because the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war had 'raised questions about the stability of the international order'. The prime minister was delivering a virtual address at the BIMSTEC summit chaired by Sri Lanka.

"The recent developments in Europe have raised questions about the stability of the international order. In this context, it has become a greater priority to have regional cooperation," he told representatives of the seven-nation regional bloc.

"(As) our region faces challenges of health and economic security, the need of the hour is unity and cooperation," he said, noting India would provide BIMSTEC with $1 million towards its operating budget. "It is important to strengthen the capacity (of the regional alliance)..."

In his brief address the prime minister also underlined the importance of agreeing on a FTA, or free trade agreement to 'increase mutual trade among BIMSTEC nations'.

"The time has come to make the Bay of Bengal the bridge of connectivity, prosperity and security. I call on all BIMSTEC nations to dedicate themselves to working with new enthusiasm to achieve the goals we achieved together in 1997," PM Modi said.

BIMSTEC constitutes India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Thailand.

The prime minister's remarks come amid continued global concern over the crisis in Ukraine.

Russia's invasion on Feb 24 has sparked Europe's biggest armed conflict since World War II, with thousands dead and over 10 million people displaced.

The fallout of the war in Ukraine has also impacted the global economy, with several countries, including India, battling surging oil and food prices.

On Tuesday India reiterated its call for unimpeded humanitarian access to battlezones in Ukraine. India told the United Nations Security Council it remains 'deeply concerned at the ongoing situation, which continues to deteriorate since the beginning of the hostilities'.

"We reiterate our call for unimpeded humanitarian access to areas of armed conflict in Ukraine," TS Tirumurti, the country's permanent rep to the UNSC, said.

India had abstained from voting on any UN resolution against Russia and Vladimir Putin.

Another round of peace talks between Ukraine and Russia took place in Turkey's Istanbul Tuesday. A glimmer of hope emerged from the talks, with Moscow saying it would scale back its offensive against Ukraine capital Kyiv and the city of Chernihiv in the north.

Kyiv, meanwhile, said it would not look to join NATO - application to which triggered Moscow's military action over claims of a threat to its national security. Kyiv will, however, look to join the European Union and Moscow said it had no objection to this.

Over a month into the largest attack on a European nation since World War II, nearly four million civilians have fled Ukraine. Russia's invasion began after Putin launched what he called a 'special military operation' to demilitarise and 'denazify' Ukraine.
