Ukranian artillery is carrying this war for them. UAV +Artillery is a deadly combination in modern war and Russian forces are having a hard time overcoming this challenge.
It's more like American intelligence that is assisting them Ukrainian artillery is mediocre for all purposes. But thanks to American intelligence they have a far better picture of the battle space than the Russians. Shows how important a good cluster of satellite constellations, sigint, aewcs, surveillance aircrafts can give you. And we are still stuck at procuring fighters.
All very true. Without US assistance this war would be going way more favorable for Russia but Russia would still have to deal with the fighting spirit of Ukraine forces. It's about to get much uglier for Russian forces as Ukraine deploys their new US/NATO Arty and rocket Arty which have much longer range than anything currently Ukraine has deployed. Many of these arty shells and rockets are GPS guided which will give Ukraine an CAS style capability.
Ukraine will likely go on the offensive this summer with their new toys.
