Ukraine is currently in the midst of an existential war, it is common for democracy and elections to be suspended during such extreme times. Both the US and UK did so during WWII. If China and Pakistan went into a full-scale invasion of India (i.e. not just some border bollox) would you still be holding elections in the middle of it?

Invalid argument, even before the war ukraine was a authoritarian corrupt country. Corrupt & failing regimes resort to war to prop up their power base and turn the focus away from their misdeeds. No wonder zelensky went to war with russia to solidfy his position and turn the focus towards russia.

No talks with russia says biden grandpa but cuts deals for his own citizens. what a hypocrisy.

That's the way they inherited it from the USSR.

You've just described what Putin is doing.

Dear God, history classes in your country must be complete and utter bollox, when you can't even describe the present accurately.
No talks with russia says biden grandpa but cuts deals for his own citizens. what a hypocrisy.

I agree on this, releasing Viktor Bout was a huge mistake that will come back to haunt. Griner's arrest was unfortunate but unimportant by comparison.
