These F-16s would be swatted out of sky by Su-30SM and Su-35S. They should better donate F-15 EX in substantial numbers if they want to hold RuAF and even that would fall short.

Su-35 with R-37 has proved to be a game-changer in this war.

Latest generation F16 with AESA radar , bvr missiles along with dual pulse missiles , anti radiation missile , capable short range missiles like python 5 , electronic warfare suit , radar warning receiver , wide range of bombs , is a capable 4.5 generation fighter jet . The thing that matters is developing tactics around a new fighter jet , Getting aquainted with a new system takes time . And there is risk to reputation .

You need to give up maths if you think that's 1/3rd, it's about 20% and they started with 10% in February. Since April they've lost more than they gained. Since September it's been 90% loss of land. The only successes they've had since September cost them tens of thousands of troops.

Listen up children because this is a free education you're about to hear... Only a couple of Ukraine fighters have been killed by the R-37M and those were fired near Russian territory at high altitude because Russian fighters don't dare get anywhere near Ukraine controlled airspace. The only Russian fighters that are at the front are those for air support and they fly very low same with Ukraine fighters like the ones that still fly over Bakhmut.

Ukraine Mig-29's and Flankers are very outdated and lack EW and up to date RWR so when one gets painted by a Russian fighter carrying R-37M at 30k+ 60-70 miles away that Ukraine fighters RWR aint detecting sht. That won't be the case for F-16's that will be handed over to Ukraine. Air to air/CAP is the least important for Ukraine since Russian CAP fighters go nowhere near Ukraine airspace what is very important is SEAD and interdiction of which F-16's are very good at.

Ukraine Mig-29's and Flankers carrying HARMS are obviously severely limited but have been somewhat successful taking out Russian SAMs however they pretty much fire blind not knowing what they are firing at. They get painted but don't know exactly where just the general direction they don't even know the range of those SAMs, but that is not the case for a SEAD F-16.



SEAD F-16's the moment it gets painted the receiving targeting POD on side of intake will know where that SAM/radar is and upload GPS coordinates to the HARM missiles but not only that it will tell the EW pod in center tank to start jamming and F-16's link-16 will give all that info to other F-16's that aren't getting painted and turning off the SAM radar will not save it. That EW POD is going to allow F-16's to get closer to the frontlines at mid altitude giving them the ability to drop JDAMS, fire mavericks and other glide and standoff weapons. Depending what nations F-16's they get they will also have Harpoon capability.

Ukraine's IADS capability/lethality is only going to increase as Patriot batteries and more NASAM and IRS-T batteries arrive making more difficult for Russian air force to penetrate Ukraine controlled air space. Spring is just going to get so much worse for Russian forces as Ukraine's capabilities increase many folds.

Russian fanboys in here need to get ready to prepare thy a r s e for the hurting they are going to feel soon.

F-16s are no match to modern Flankers with or without AESA. Russians would love to swat them with glee. Hell, even our Mig-21 shot down the much vaunted Pakistani F-16, lol.

Only planes that can give UkAF parity with RuAF are Rafale, Typhoon, F-35. Only plane that will give them superiority is F-22. But they are not getting all of the above in 200+ numbers. So they will continue to get pounded by Su-35S and Su-30SM like the past year.

Yes, their SEAD has sucked. But I'm talking about aerial warfare. All Su-35S, Su-30SM and Mig-31BM have performed exceptionally well in this regime. Even performance of R-77-1 and R-37M has been stellar thus far as confirmed by Ukrainian pilots.

From front Su-57 is more stealthy than any fighter present today. In aerial combat that is of utmost importance. All aspect VLO is required to break IADS initially and to enhance survivability deep inside enemy territory. With Type-30 engines, its all aspect VLO shall match that of Raptor's.
