US - Iran Flare Up

Power > Law

At the end of the day it all came down to that. US killed Iranian general since they are powerful enough to get away with it without much problem

US would not have killed Chinese or Soviet top General when no direct war is declared, since they knew they cannot get away with it. Its one of those perks of being the sole superpower in the world

Wrong. This has more to do with Iran's filthy habit of attacking embassies on its own soil or abroad. These would include the American hostage crisis in the US Embassy of 1979 or that of the Saudi hostage crisis in the KSA embassy in Iran in 2015 , if I'm not mistaken. Add to it the Benghazi strikes in 2011-12. When the proxies of Iran
Undertook what they did on the US Embassy in Baghdad, they certainly overestimated themselves, the US knew exactly where to draw the red lines.

So Obama should be killed for killing thousands in Libya , Syria. Isnt it? Same with Bush , Clinton,. Bush Sr and all the military cheifs
I can't say that many people would mind you killing Obama, that said the civil war started by itself. Iran has actively supported Shia militias there too and in Yemen and Hezbollah.

If you're a dictatorship you cannot complain when your people rise up.

There isnt any declared war with Iran. Get yiur facts right. What if Iran kills US VP? How will Uas react?
And yet Iran killed diplomats, attacked an embassy, attacked Saudi oil fields and hijacked a civilian oil tanker. You don't need to declare a war if someone attacks you. Iran already attacked diplomatic personnel that were in Iraq with the invite of the democratically elected Iraqi government. You're acting as if this never happened.

Iran should count itself lucky that it's only lost one senior member of its regime after all the attacks and killings its been behind. If they'd like to lose more, just keep going.

The Russians and Chinese would not conduct an attack on US personnel and its embassy, or attack oilfields or seize the oil tankers of NATO nations. Isn't it amazing how these more powerful nations would not expect to get away with such behaviour, yet Iran thinks it can.

A very interesting situation. We (i.e. @nair and few more of us) had delved on this in the older forum. A world of opportunities open up for India. If played right.

Unlike the popular misconception, Mr Trump is not the fool that everyone takes him to be.

Honestly, what will be the targets for the Iranians? US bases in Iraq? US, under him, will be happy to get out of it on the pretext that the present dispensation has asked US to quit.

This serves his and ironically US' interests in 02 ways:

1. Draw down of troops, something that the US public wants and he fought an election on.
2. Allows for a situation wherein Iran will also target US facilities in the GCC countries. That shall force the Saudis to act. Situation becomes interesting for Saudis and the GCC alliance as they shall have to either get involved in Iraq (if US forces withdraw) directly or indirectly and also open up another front against Iran from Pakistan (Baluchistan angle). This also pits Iranians and Pakistanis against each other, with the latter having no option but to side with KSA on this, thereby pitting Pakistan against Iran in Afghanistan as also opening up a can of worms in Baluchistan and Baluchistan-Sistan region. And we all know why that serves US' interests too (CPEC)

It is something we predicted will be the action by US. With Turkey at loggerheads with Iran in Syria, with Saudi Arabia in Libya, this will effectively put the so called Islamic world against one another.

Well played indeed.

@nair damn ... we need to go poke our friends on our west with a 'we told you so' post on the relevant thread !!!
Look like things are going in the direction which we predicted.....

Well that also protects our investment in sistan..... Gives the world a new route to Afghanistan....

My superstitions are my faith, your superstitions & faith are laughable.Hence negotiable.

Stay tuned for more comedy, folks. All poker faced & wildly entertaining.

Not to gloat I told you so but I'd remind the readers here about a thread I started here a long time ago about the desecration of two of our holiest and oldest Atash Behrams in Bombay by the Metro construction.

Our high priests have been warning you for some time now that dark forces will be unleashed if and when that happens.

Take heed countrymen.

The Atash protects this land ... and its people.

You have nearly forgotten Agni.

Don't anger him.

@vstol Jockey @Sandeep0159 and any other practicing Brahmin priests here ... from an Osta Athrvan priest.

Cheers, Doc

Mods, if this post fits in the thread just fine, adios SF. This particular member is on a drive to derail all threads and not paying heed to repeated warnings.

Honestly speaking, I'm not surprised that someone of Dravidian stock would laugh this off.

Cheers, Doc

Take a note of this too.

Take a note of this too.

If you are an Aryan priest, intervene now.

You know exactly what is coming ...

There is near zero difference over 5000 years in Agnisthapna rituals between Zoroastrianism and Vedic Hinduism.

ShhShhhh. It's going to be amaavas soon. This is nothing compared to what we were subject to earlier at the onset of amaavas Or on the night itself.

Question - Balochis claim some parts of Iranian territory as well? So why would Iran work to strengthen them?

Because they are confident they can internalize all of it.

And looking at their footprint across the ME, that confidence is not misplaced.

The Baloch rebels are hardline Sunni, incidentally.

The Iranian regime's doctrine of Velayat-e-Faqih is pretty clear in its stated aims.

Which is to recreate geographically eventually but realistically by military and political control through proxies the old Persian Empire.

In that aim the Mullahs and Nationalists are absolutely united.

And that binds the entire nation into one, rallying around the flag.

They know eventually there will be a bloodbath for the spoils.

But that's on the backburner for now while they take on the rest of the Muslim world.
