Air Battle over Kashmir : MiG-21 Bison shoots down F-16

No , they will give his family a few crores and Delete All Records of the pilot's existence

Only a Book written by some Guy in future can tell the Truth

US CIA must be knowing the identity of
Doosra Banda and they might have
even shared it with us but with a condition to keep quiet

We should try to kidnap Gafoora after he retires :ROFLMAO:

C IA won't keep such secrets permanently as they will release in due course. In fact, we should change our style of media perception and get away from the old style of keeping secrets for ever.

@Arsalan123 do you have the courage to posts this link your forum . would love to see how they reacts as F-16.net admin pretty much called them trolls and debunked their Claim that it was independent verifcation by F-16.net:

@Hindustani78, You have been posting shit on this thread. I did not respond to you till now as I found your posts far below my standard to even respond to. Within this thread I have done detailed analysis of that battle and also shown to members the video proof of an aircraft crashing with two ejection seats falling next to eachother. You were not even that long in your liquid form beta compared to the time I have spent on the back of a loop in a fighter and the life of your parents and you included is not even close to the time I have spent flying fighters.

Sure, look up your ISPR's press releases during Kargil. Given the track record, Even your COAS doesn't believe what ISPR says.
sorry for late reply. i was busy. for kargil, i strongly urge you to contact major retd gd bnakshi. he will tell you how to stand on reverse slope. it's a great technique. we have clean record milspec. we did what we wanted on feb 27. there are many members from india who wanted action on feb 28 but nothing happened. are you going to face paf this time? turning cold every time sucks. xd

Take a screen shot of this, Nishan E Haider for your dead pilot after 10 years (given kargil timeline for Lalak Jan & karnal Khan)
for your actions on feb27,i would like to award court martial.

How much for a Wren and Martin in your local book store?

You took that right out of my mind!
What better way to start the week than stirring up a 1.5 year old incident which has been analysed and scrutinised to death!!

There is definitely something called Telepathy

I was thinking that
So many days have passed and there has been no discussion on "F 16 -- Mig 21 " subject And my wish was immediately fulfilled by Sameer Joshi :ROFLMAO:

He's basically saying that the engagement took place at Dmax at a particular altitude.

This is the problem @vstol Jockey with long range shots. Although it won't kill, a long range shot even at Dmax will force the defender to go cold. This will allow a stealth strike package to slip in an attack of their own. Hence the need to be able to match or exceed the Dmax of the enemy missile to force them also to go cold along with you.

The AMRAAM C5's Dmax is probably only 40-45% of the Meteor's. It's a shame that we did not have the Meteor or Derby ER at the time.

We should be Very Thankful to Pakistan
For Feb 26 and 27

Otherwise there would have been no changes and improvements

And In the present stand off with China
We would have been caught totally unawares and blindsided

Most definitely. This govt's been working overtime ever since the weaknesses became public. I'd actually say the IAF woke up to their deficiencies and are making up with emergency purchases.

We are still not there yet, but we are getting where we need to be really quickly.

The RVV-SD and Astra Mk1 povide a certain amount of parity (not superiority), but what's more important is the supply of SAMs from Israeli stores. Since most of the action we see appears to be local, at least our troops will operate under the protection of capable SAMs. I hope Depsang's under the protection of some Israeli SAMs. The Chinese may concentrate there with their perceived armour superiority and the region's proximity to suitable PLAAF air bases, especially when they likely have significant disadvantages everywhere else.

Better late than never.

There is absolutely No substitute to Real War Experience

That is why US is always in Combat
Somewhere or other

The daily skirmishes along LOC and
All the experience that IAF has gained in the last one and half year will help us in a conflict with China

Kargil made us complacent
Feb 2019 was a Huge Wake up call

Are you suggesting that Gaganshakti was an eyewash? I thought that one exercise did more to prove the IAF could handle a 2 war front than any exercise before or since. It's another matter that PAF didn't stick to the script on 27th Feb. But that's a minor trifle.

What the US is doing is not a good thing for them. It's the exact opposite of what they should actually be doing since an insurgency trains you for something else entirely. In Iraq and Afghanistan, they should have done what the IA did in Kashmir, that is withdraw the regular forces and create a counterinsurgency force like the RR. The last time they fought a proper air war was back during Vietnam.

Kargil was indeed a wake up call, and we did modernise right after that. All the big ticket deals were signed during that time. Procurement of MKI, Vikramaditya, Phalcon etc, along with LCA, Dhruv, SSBN, BMD, Pinaka R&D, and so on. But the minute UPA came to power, military modernisation was pushed to the side for 10 years, until NDA came back to power again.
