400 would be a good number but having same type/design might some what end up becoming too specialized. It would be great if we can rope in private players to design different types of fuselage. Probably some thing similar to Kamov 226T would really be usefull.

The idea behind having two production lines was to create capacities within the private sector as well as bring in this capability while the LUH was being developed. With that plan done and dusted, the LUH alone is enough. Even the stopgap plan for 60 Ka-226T seems to have been junked.

So now, the private sector is coming in via IMRH.

Apart from the utility version, we are going to have a civilian version and a naval variant too.

A lite version of self protection suite and a EO/IR gimbal and we will have a scout version for Army.

All this while ICG is struggling to get funds so that they can order

1. 06 C295W based MPAs.
2. Naval LUH.
3. 09 additional Dhruvs.
4. 06 OPVs.
5. 14 FPVs.
6. 22 Interceptor Vessels.
7. Training Ship and Training base.


The forces should give some additional left funds to Coast Guard if they are unable to spend on domestic industry.

The ICGs total budget has been reduced from 1 billion to 800 million USD coming FY.
