actually, just one thread for all the Very important discussions would be good. Making different threads removes the seriousness in the topic. you can change the thread name though

You want Khichdi? I mean whats the point of discussing navy acquisition in a thread primarily dedicated to IAF and more so on aircraft acquisitions?

For navy aviation it makes sense.

Now for warships, all corvettes and frigates and submarines and whatever else, sure, they'd be better in a different thread, but the MRCBF stuff is very relevant to this thread.

I mean to say the news provides by Aashish gets split into different threads. It would be difficult to follow. More than half of them dont even understand any technical discussions that happen on this thread, me included. We just fish this thread to read news aashish provides here. the whole purpuse of this thread was the topics being discussed behind closed doors.

Anything that flies do have significance here in this thread more so of naval aircraft acquisition. Agree.

For that he can have a dedicated thread with no postings open, just updates. Discussion can happen in individual thread.

Just my 2 cents.

The hot core is actually the HP and LP turbines which are behind the combustion chambers and where the burnt out gases are converted in to propulsive force by HP turbine and LP turbine. Mostly the HP turbine gives the forward thrust while the LP turbine is used to run the compressors and other services like gear box. M88 hot core needs nearly zero or minimum changes to be adopted for Kaveri but the changes required in the front part including fan and HP compressors are going to be massive to ensure steady and stable flow thru the hot core of the engine.
diameters are not the same. No way to plug and play the hot core of M88 on Kaveri.

Welcome back!

As for Rafale numbers, it's anybody's guess. 200, 300, 400.
I would be VERY happy with 100+

200+ is a given. DA has played it very smartly, irrespective of what people think on this forum. Have said it past 2 years. There is no F-16 coming. There is Rafale and LCA (all the Marks). Rest is humbug. Go by what business does on the ground. Not by what media junkies say in newspapers.
only 36 so far....
I hope the Mirage 2000 story will not restart.

We all know not to believe presstitutes. But, when speaking on the ground details, what is that happening on the ground which makes 200 Rafales a reality? The cost for 200 rafales intially will be 20 billion dollars. Adding spare parts, modifications and maintenance over 10 years, the cost will be about 50 billion dollars. It is important to consider the fact that Su30 MKI is made in India except for radars. LCA Tejas also will be fully made in India with the completion of Kaveri engine. UTTAM AESA has also completed ground trials which means it is coming soon too. So, with all this mind, Rafale deal of 50 billion dollars may be a bit to much.

So, you must explain to me about the work on the ground that makes such a big deal meaningful. Is it supply of ToT and fully indigenous manufacturing like in Su30MKI?
