So this DRAL thing is owned by Reliance Infra, unless Anil Ambani offloads Reliance naval and engg, doesn't look too rosy for Rel Infra.

According to reports P-75 will also be going to Mazagaon Docks which will be further bad news for private shipyards

The private industry can always become subcontractors.

One side you privatize air India and you keep private firms which are better in productivity as subcontractors. Lols..
That day is not far when DRDO will only become a babu office near South Block and it's entities being sold to other private firms.

DRDO is a research lab, not a production facility. Private companies cannot replace it.

Subcontractors do the actual production. The main contractor simply assembles the produced parts. L&T and Pipavav can build the sections of the submarine and it can all be assembled in MDL. It's pretty much the same with the nuclear submarines.

Correct. They are very professional with professionals. To the media, they will obviously support their organization.
There are no organisation CTP's , they are all Airforce pilots deputed to CTP roles, they work with these organization, but they do not represent them.

When TPs talk to the media, they exaggerate. That's part of their job. They don't criticize the program publicly.

Please don't equate pilots to salesmen. If there are positives about the system they like they will say so. You cant expect lca or a MKI pilot to talk to the media, saying well the aircraft is toast in the next 5 years, right ;) ?

Sure, it's all positive, to the point where they are actually bragging.

IAF needs a total 25 new sqns by 2027-30 time frame to be able to rise to 42 sqns and also replace all MIG-21s/27s and Jaguars. That means a total of 24x25=600 new aircraft.

Why are we going to replace Jags? If I am right we are going to upgrade 60 jags with AESA and new Control system and engine. Basically its going to be a new aircrafts. 60 are planned to be upgraded with decision on another 60 is yet to be made, whether to be used as scraps or to be upgraded. Jags is the first AESA ac in the subcontinent.

From what I know, by 2022 or 2023, HAL will expand their LCA line to 27 per year.

This tender is Rafale's to win. So, apart from the 4 squadrons, we can expect a few squadrons from the tender inducted by 2030. They can easily produce 20 per year, if not more.

And I personally still believe in the PAK FA/FGFA. A much better option than the Mig-35.

Dont dream Bro. Until unless Mk2 is flying and have got orders, it wont be. The plan for mk1a is to produce 16ac per year for 83 ac. The plan is to finish the order by 2025 considering mk1a flying by 19 and production starts by 2020.
And mk2, testing, and if its ready by 2022, then its possible they might increase production rate to such levels considering they get the order for 201. However I am not confident of such a short testing phase considering it will be nearly an new plane and design. Even now the order for mk1A for 83 ac havent been placed FYI.

I don't expect the Mk2 to be produced anytime before 2027.

HAL is hoping the IAF will add 3 more squadrons to the Mk1A's order. Another goal is exports. If IAF refuses, HAL wants to sell the excess production to countries like Malaysia or Vietnam. A bunch of countries have shown interest in the jet.
